It is quite funny to wake up in a normal day, in a quiet place, where nothing is actually happening, with a sting feeling deep in your chest.

When she woke up, Klaus was already up and downstairs, the twins still asleep.

It's always the opposite.

Her stomach was cold and her lungs were agitated.

There's something wrong!

It was too easy.

Way too easy...

Her mind just couldn't pinpoint what.

She was walking out of her room, lost in her thoughts, when she collided with a hard chest.

Not that she's avoiding Elijah, but honestly, Rosalind doesn't really know what to say to him. She's not afraid of him. Really not.

But she's still troubled with what she saw there...

"Elijah..." she breathes out, stunned.

The Original vampire too seems not know what to say or do. He's dead ashamed of what she had to see and mostly, for what he did.

He opens and closes his mouth many times, trying to choose the right words.

"Rosie, I..." he honestly doesn't know what to expect from her. I mean, she saw all the parts he tried to hard to hide. Especially from her.

What completely shocked him, in a good way, is that Rosalind throws her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"Oh, thank god you're alive!"

He wasted no time in wrapping his strong arms around her. Breathing out in relief. Her perfume and the warmth of her body relaxing all of his previous thoughts.

As always, she manages to surprise him.

"I'm sorry!" his voice breaks in the end "I'm so, so sorry, Rosie!"

Rosalind smiles weakly, hiding her face in the crook of his neck.

"Please...forgive me...I..." they withdrew from the embrace, still standing close to each other "...forgive me!"

Her face was completely relaxed and a soft expression taking place in her eyes.

"I would never, ever hurt you!" he cups her face with the one hand while the other stays wrapped around her waist "I swear on my life..."

"Elijah, breathe!" she cuts him off "I figured all that much. Don't worry!"

"I..." he swallows harshly "...I never wished for you to witness that part of myself"

Then, she understood what he meant.

"You think I'm scared?" she asks in a soft tone and by the look of insecurity in his eyes, she got her answer right away "if I tell you that not even for a moment I was, I'd be lying and I hate lies"
