The revelation of their past lives weighed heavily on YN and RM’s minds. They spent the next few days in a daze, trying to process the idea that they had been lovers in another time, only to be torn apart by forces beyond their control. The journal RM had shown YN was like a key, unlocking memories and emotions that had been buried deep within them for over a century.

One evening, as they sat together in RM’s apartment, the soft glow of candlelight illuminating the room, YN found herself staring at the old journal. She had gone over its pages countless times, each entry, each drawing, unravelling more of their past. Yet, so many questions remained unanswered.

“I can’t stop thinking about it,” YN admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “About us… about what we lost.”

RM looked at her, his expression gentle but pained. “I know. It feels like there’s this whole other life we’ve lived, and now it’s all flooding back to us. But YN… we have this life now. We’re here together, and we can make the most of it.”

YN nodded, though the ache in her chest remained. “But what if we’re destined to lose each other again? What if something happens that we can’t control?”

RM reached for her hand, his fingers warm and reassuring against hers. “We’re not the same people we were back then. We have the power to change our fate, YN. We’re stronger now, and we know what’s at stake.”

YN’s gaze fell to the journal on the coffee table. “There’s something in here, RM. Something that might help us understand what happened, and maybe even prevent it from happening again.”

RM squeezed her hand. “Then we’ll figure it out together. Whatever it takes, we’ll find the answers.”

YN nodded, taking a deep breath. “I think we need to start by understanding who I was in that past life. The journal mentions that I was a time traveller, but how? And why? If I was from another time, why did I end up in 1894?”

RM frowned, deep in thought. “Maybe there’s more to the story than we know. Maybe you were sent there for a reason, and that reason is connected to why we’re here now.”

YN felt a surge of determination. “We need to dig deeper. There has to be something we’re missing—something that will explain why we were brought back together.”

RM nodded, his eyes filled with resolve. “Then let’s start with what we know. We’ll go through the journal again, piece by piece, and see if there’s anything we overlooked.”

As they delved back into the journal, YN felt a strange sense of deja vu. The words on the page seemed to echo in her mind, like fragments of a memory that was just out of reach. She could almost see herself in that other life, a young doctor with a heart full of love and a duty to fulfill.

And then there was Captain Kim—strong, honourable, with a quiet intensity that had drawn her to him from the moment they met. She could still feel the weight of his loss, the pain of being torn away from him. But she could also feel the love that had bound them together, a love that had transcended time itself.

“I think this entry is important,” RM said, breaking her reverie. He pointed to a passage written in a language that looked familiar, yet alien. “It mentions something about a ‘portal’ and ‘the key.’”

YN’s heart raced as she read the passage. “If this is true, then maybe there’s a way to connect with that past life—to understand why I was sent there, and how it all ties together.”

RM met her gaze, his eyes filled with determination. “Then we’ll find that key, YN. We’ll uncover the truth, and this time, nothing will keep us apart.”

As they continued their search, YN felt a flicker of hope. Their past had been tragic, filled with loss and heartbreak, but this was their second chance. And this time, she and RM would fight for their love with everything they had.

Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, determined to rewrite their story and create a future where their love could finally endure across time, across lifetimes, forever.
