In the heart of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, amidst the bustling corridors and the echoing laughter of students, there lived a particularly sprightly house-elf named Dobby. He was no longer bound to the Malfoy family and had taken it upon himself to be a free elf—though, sometimes, he struggled to fully embrace his new life of freedom. But a twist of fate was about to change everything. One chilly afternoon, while Dobby was diligently cleaning the Gryffindor common room (as it was his favorite job, because he enjoyed the smell of old Quidditch gear), he heard a thud followed by a soft "Ouch!" A glance around revealed Sarah, a new first-year student who had just tripped over a stray broomstick. With wide, sparkly eyes, Dobby rushed over, forgetting about the pile of socks he was meant to fold. "Oh, Miss Sarah! Are you alright? Dobby can help!" Sarah looked up, and for a moment, time seemed to stop. "Hey, little guy. You're an elf, right?" she asked, wiping a bit of dust from her cheek. "You're... cute!" "Cute? Dobby? No, no!
