Another year, another semester. In my opinion, so far so good on my side. Passing all my subjects and at the same just enjoying every moment of everyday. I always thought that college would be difficult, but I guess I'm speaking too soon. Am I? Summer break has just ended and I am currently packing my things to go back to my University. I spent the summer in my hometown as I always do everytime there is a break in our schedule. This time, class starts tomorrow and my father is driving me back.

"Esmeray, hurry up if you don't want us to get stuck in traffic!" Dad yelled from downstairs and that made me pick up the pace. Why am I just packing now? Because I spent the whole day yesterday playing and now I am in a rush to pack everything I need. Crossing my fingers that I don't forget anything important.

I double checked my room if I did pack all my stuff and only left those that I don't need before heading downstairs. Dad has already started the car and when he saw me coming down, he grabbed my bag and placed it in the back seat as I say goodbye to my Mom and siblings.

"Safe trip. Call us whenever you want" Mom said and I nodded my head and kissed her on the cheek. I kissed my siblings as well before heading to the car. I rolled the window down when I got in and waved at them until I can no longer see them. It's about five to seven hour drive to get to my university. So that means jamming on radio music with Dad for the rest of the trip, and maybe a little bit of shut eye.

We bought drive through before entering the expressway becasue we all know how long of a drive that will take. Small talk, music, and movie marathon is what we did before we arrived at our destination. Back in my university, Dad helped me get settled in again in my dorm before we said goodbye. I walked him back to his car and he drove off. I retuned to my dorm.

I let myself fall on the bed and as I inhale the nostalgic aroma of the wind from my window entering the room, I'm immediately greeted by an unexcpected person. She started jumping up and down and stopped to give me a hug while I'm still lying down.

"MIDNIGHT!!!" she screamed in excitement.

It's my roommate, classmate, and bestfriend Tanya who told that she won't be back till tomorrow. As I find a way to breathe and unhook myself from her hug, I asked...

"Y-you told me *inahle* you won't be back *exhale*  till tomorrow?" I said, barely.

"Change of plans, I talked myself out of it and conviced my Dad to drive me today. I don't want to miss the first day" She answered and finally broke the hug. I catch my breath before sitting up.

"I missed you" she said and I smiled.

"I missed you too" I answered back.

We first met each other in our first year when we found out that we're roommates. Things did not go so well at first because she said that I had a resting bitch face which made it difficult for her to approach me even though we share the same room. On my end, I always thought that I won't like her at all, but I guess we're both wrong. We help each other unpack and went down to the convenience store to get dinner. College things. No more home cooked meals.

We told each other everything we did during the summer. No difference at all, we both just played the whole break. After all that talking and catching up we decided to sleep considering that our class tomorrow starts at 8:30am. Between the both of us, I am always the first one to fall asleep while she stays up longer and scroll through her phone.

My alarm went off and I noticed that Tanya's bed is empty. With my eyes still half open, I reached for my phone and saw that Tanya left a message.

"Left early, had to run an errand."
