It's been one hell of a night.
Rain can hardly believe how well it's turned out and it's almost coming to an end. His only hope is for it to end on a good note, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.
He's in the washroom later that night to freshen up but on his way out, he bumps into someone.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Rain utters but he's slightly taken aback when he sees who it is. "P-P'Ple."
Ple smiles, tight and condescending. "Hello, Rain. I almost didn't recognize you."
Rain chuckles awkwardly, not sure if that was even a compliment. "Just for a change. You look great by the way." He says to lighten the mood—to no avail.
Ple whips her hair aside as if to say 'I know'. Then she leans closer to Rain and whispers into his ear, "I underestimated you, you sly little fox." She said it so quietly that Rain hardly heard her over the music.
But based on what he thinks he heard, panic blooms in his chest and he jerks back, knocking into a waiter carrying drinks and getting himself soaked in mocktails. The surrounding students gasp and Ple giggles at the display.
On the other hand, Phayu notices the commotion and comes running to Rain's aid. "What happened?" He then trains his icy gaze at his ex and asks, "Did you-"
But Rain interrupts, "No, P'Phayu, I was being clumsy and bumped into the waiter."
"See? I didn't do anything." Ple feigns innocence but Phayu remains skeptical. However, Rain pulls him away before things could escalate. "Let's just go, phi."
Finally, Phayu nods.
"Are you okay?" Sky asks as they pass him by and Rain nods reassuringly and tells him, "We'll go ahead, okay? I need to change into dry clothes." He even chuckles for effect but Sky can tell something's up. He wonders what Ple whispered to Rain but he'll ask another day.
"Okay, I'll see you in class tomorrow." He pats Rain on the arm. Then, he and Phayu exchange nods and the latter simply ignores Prapai which, strangely enough, is actually a step up from Phayu shooting daggers out of his eyes at the other. Sky is glad.
Once they're outside, at the parking lot where Phayu's bike is, Rain finally sees the full extent of the damage. He's wet from the shoulders down to his shoes and the tips of his hair is sticky.
"Why am I so clumsy?" He groans. "Mom's gonna get worried when she sees me like this."
And at that, Phayu ponders briefly then casually suggests, "You can change into dry clothes at my place first if you want."
On the contrary, Rain's eyes widen a fraction and he sputters, "A-at your place?"

After the party, the students begin filing out of the venue. Sky and Prapai give a hand to some of the organizers during egress then the two collapse on the floor that's still spangled with confetti.
They both look relieved but one of them for more than one reason.
"You're happy, aren't you?" Sky pipes up, bumping Prapai's shoulder playfully.
"About what?" Prapai asks albeit with a knowing smile on his face.
"That you and P'Phayu were in the same place without getting in each other's throats." Sky spells it out with pleasure. "I could tell it meant a lot to you."
Prapai chuckles and there's a glint in his eyes that Sky hadn't seen before. And since they're already on the topic, Sky pries a little further. "Do you miss it sometimes? Your friendship?"
