Crush - A Minsung Story

~Prologue~

What defines a crush? An attraction? An obsession? An interest? What defines a childish crush? Maybe a crush that everyone knows you have no chance with. Or maybe admiration. Whatever those definitions say, it's not what I feel. My "crush" feels like someone I can comfortably call home. Like my safe space. Like someone I can be myself with. Yes I am physically attracted to him of course, but the physical attraction doesn't go as far as the love I feel for him as a person. His kindness, his caring warm heart. I love him. So why doesn't he love me back? Why can't he notice me? Why does he think of me as a "little Brother" when I could be more. Why does he look at me like i'm a little ki-

"Jisung! Hello earth to Jisung!" Felix calls out waving his hand in front of my face. I remove my airpods and wrinkle my nose. "Sorry lix, I got distracted." Felix rolls his eyes and places my Americano on the table. "Yeah I could tell. What's got you so distracted?" Felix has been my best friend since Elementary. We met accidentally when I tripped over my feet and spilled my water on him. Instead of getting mad at me he just laughed and introduced himself. We quickly became the best of friends. "Is it college? Are you nervous about running into Minho?" He gives me a slight smirk. Minho is his older brother. I met him when he went to pick Felix up from elementary one day. He was in Middle school at the time. I was crying because my ice cream melted in the sun. He came up to me and wiped my tears away with the sleeve of his blazer and handed me money for a new ice cream. You could say at that moment I fell in love. He was so gentle and so kind. His smile made my heart almost jump out of my tiny body. Felix wasn't aware of my "crush" on his older brother. However, when I was in middle school and Minho was a freshman in highschool I went over to their house to hang out with Felix. Minho opened the door for me with a girl by his side. He introduced me to his girlfriend. Of course I was heartbroken. My heart shattered into a million pieces at the sight of his girlfriend. The way he looked at her with hearts in his eyes, it was devastating. I ended up running to Felix's room and broke down in tears. I told Felix everything. He wasn't upset that I liked his brother so he comforted me. At one point when I was in Highschool and Minho started college, He and his girlfriend broke up. I really thought I had a chance before I heard he was seeing someone else. Silly me right? Now Felix and I are getting into the same college. And it's not for the boys.

JYPC is a world known college of the arts. Minho went there to pursue his dancing career. He actually ended up becoming a teacher there and will be starting this year. Felix, as you can imagine influenced by his older brother, fell in love with dance. I, on the other hand, fell in love with music production, and rapping. Because Felix and I had no classes together we decided to take dance and rap together. "Ha ha, very funny lix." I roll my eyes and take a sip of my Americano. "I was just writing down some things that have been on my mind." I shrug. Felix snorts and reaches for his phone. "Have you seen your schedule yet?" I shake my head, grabbing a hold of my phone. "Oh sweet, I have a pretty chill schedule." Felix claims as he scrolls on his phone occasionally taking a sip of his soda. I open up my email and find my schedule. I start scrolling.

I freeze. My dance teacher....is Minho. "What!" I stand up fast and stare at my phone in shock. Felix jumps. "Woah what the hell man?" He gives me a judgy look before I show him my phone. "Minho is our dance instructor?" Felix just smirks and winks. "Told you to leave it to me, now you may have a chance with him." I stare wide eyed at felix contemplating whether or not I should waterboard him with his soda or thank him. I had a class with Felix's older brother who just so happens to be my lifelong crush.
