Saving people, hunting things, it's what we do

That quote has been engraved in Presley's mind since the day she was able to talk.

Growing up with the Winchester's, Presley learned three things.

1. Dean likes pie

2. Never question dad's whereabouts, you'll receive the same answer every time

3. Daddy knows best

When Presley entered into school, it was made clear that her family's life was far from normal. The constant moving, John sometimes coming back injured, and Sam and Dean constantly keeping guard. It felt as if they were running from something, constantly.

All Presley wanted to do was make friends, form relationships with people that could last a lifetime, but she knew it could never happen. That is, not unless she took charge of her own life.

At the ripe age of seven she knew more about how to shoot a gun than she did the multiplication table. She struggled with keeping up in her class, and at some point she was in jeopardy of being held back. It didn't phase John though, she would move schools anyway within the next week.

Presley had a bright mind for her age, but her potential was wasted on what she called useless information about how to make a salt circle, or protection symbols on the wall.

She became exhausted and was beginning to lash out. She would look to Sam and Dean for help, but Dean was like an obedient lapdog when it came to their dad, and Sam was too scared.

Their uncle Bobby was her only source of comfort and protection, and she took solace in him when things got bad at home.

Sure, Bobby was an old drunk, but he treated her like she was a kid, because she was. Her father on the other hand valued work over the well being of his own kids.

On August 23, 1998, Presley got the courage to finally leave the toxicity of her father.

She packed her bag which contained some basic necessities (toothbrush, water, food, etc), her stuffed bear Sam, and the last of her sanity.

Tears pricked her eyes as she wrote a goodbye letter to her family, but it was mainly targeted towards Sam and Dean.

Not once did Presley ever blame her brothers for her misfortune, they all had to face the wrath of their father at some point. It pained her to leave them with their father, but going to Bobby was her only hope.

"Presley?"

When Bobby opened the door to his home, he didn't expect to see the girl on his doorstep.

Bobby looked down at Presley who had tears in her eyes and a shaky form. "I didn't want to do it, but I had no choice.." her voice broke, her lip trembling.
