DANCING IN THE RAIN

Chris and I were sitting in the car, filming a video for my YouTube channel. We had only been dating for a few months now, almost six, and it seemed to be going very well. Like all couples, we've had our ups and downs, deep arguments and petty remarks, but we've come back stronger than ever each time. I think the reason why our relationship works so well, is because we've known each other for forever. It took me a long time to even think that Chris and I could ever be a thing. I remember the day I realized I liked him, I almost threw up. It made me sick to my stomach thinking that I could like a friend, someone who at times I thought of as a brother. We had been through so much together, it created a bond. Chris has his problems with relationships, but I think he trusts me. I trust him too.

The video was coming to a close though, we were telling the viewers how we met, and what lead to us getting together. It was a fun story actually. We had been walking around Boston, going into different gas stations and buying snacks and drinks and sitting at parks. It was then, at some park a mile away from his house, had the sky darkened. A few cracks of thunder made us hide under the playground slide. To anyone, we looked silly. A couple of grown ups hiding under a kids slide. I wish someone had been there to take a picture. We were planning on wait out the storm after the rain started. Until the rain came pouring down in harsh sleets and we were soaked to the bone. We were laughing hysterically. I pulled Chris out from under the slide. He chased me around the kids soccer field. We were laughing and shouting at each other. It was a beautiful moment. Until he tackled me to the floor suddenly. And then he kissed me.

Telling the viewers the story was funny to reminisce on a moment that happened not too long ago. I was nervous as hell to post this video. This was our 'hey we're together' video. The first one his and my fans would see of us together. We were both super nervous. I told him after editing it, he and I could rewatch it together and then decide when the right time to post it was. Some of his fans are super insane and don't think logically. There are a nice amount who are considerable to me and his relationship. They think that if I make Chris happy, then we should be together. Sometimes I feel guilty about taking him from them. Who am I to deserve him?

Chris looks over at me, the camera was still rolling but the both of us were just sitting in silence, not wanting to make a move after what we just filmed together. Chris lays a hand on my thigh. "You good?" I looked up from my phone and nodded. "Yeah, I was just thinking."

"Hey, if you're not ready we don't have to do anything now." I smiled at him thankfully. "I know Chris. I just think we need to get it over with though, don't you think?" Chris nods and glances out the front window. "Hey, does it look like it's gonna rain to you?" I lean over the steering wheel, staring up at the dark clouds and wind in the trees. "Oh yeah I think so." I agreed. Chris just shakes his head. "Rain huh? Weird."

"It's a naturally occurring phenomenon." I shrugged. I reached over and played with the stereo. "I don't want to go home yet." Chris nods in agreement. "That's fine, I don't want to go home yet either." I switch through channels and stations before finally coming upon a song I like. My car, my music rules and Chris has no choice. Driver picks the music and passenger shuts his cakehole or whatever Dean Winchester said that one time. I decided on listening to Till Forever Falls Apart by Ashe and Finneas. It was the best option out of whatever else was on the radio currently. Within a few moments, there were tiny droplets pattering onto the windows. "We should go out there." I looked over at Chris. The rain had begun to pickup and was coming down pretty quickly. "I'm wearing my good shoes!" Chris groans. "Fine, I'll go out there by myself." I unlock the car and slide out, leaving the door wide open so Chris would have to close it. Or maybe the wind would do it for me. "Hey!" I hear Chris yell at me as he leans out his window.
