As the weeks pass by and give way to another month, Mingyu finds himself spending more and more time with Wonwoo. He's not used to investing so much of his time into something else other than work, and he'll admit that ever since he and Wonwoo talked about things the change has been jarring for Mingyu.
For the first week, the dynamics between them had been a little rocky and difficult for both of them. Wonwoo seemed tense all of the time, and Mingyu was pretty sure it had to do with the fact that for the first time ever, someone other than Soonyoung knew what Wonwoo did for money. Perhaps Wonwoo was afraid that Mingyu was secretly disgusted by his job, even if it was far from the truth.
But Mingyu wasn't any better off. He was used to people being fake humble when it came to money. He was used to women playing pretend with modesty whilst begging to be showered with gifts. The way that they'd tell him that they didn't need anything materialistic from him whilst snatching his debit card right out of his hands anyways. Their fake smiles and fake kindness and fake everything. Mingyu was used to this kind of arrangement, but being a sugar daddy for another man was a whole other ballpark.
It was new. It was thrilling, but Mingyu didn't know what the fuck he was doing. Where it only took Wonwoo a few days to loosen up, it ended up taking Mingyu a lifetime. He still flushes and feels the slightest bit of embarrassment when Wonwoo calls him daddy.
He still feels so unsure of this all. What the two of them have is fragile and Mingyu knows this. He knows that what they've built together is a house of cards, ready to collapse at the slightest of tremors.
Mingyu is hesitant and holds his breath, but he's trying to adjust. He's trying.
Wonwoo on the other hand, seems all too familiar with this scene and doesn't even try to hide how much he loves spending Mingyu's money. Mingyu gives Wonwoo nine hundred dollars a week for self-indulgence, but Wonwoo blows through that in a handful of days before he calls Mingyu in the middle of meetings, begging for his card. How the hell Wonwoo spends so much in just a few days is beyond Mingyu. It wasn't as if Mingyu actually cared how much Wonwoo spent, but it was starting to get out of hand and Wonwoo was acting more like a spoilt prince than ever.
Keeping true to his word, Mingyu had wired money to Wonwoo's bank account for rent and overdue tuition. With his head hung low, Wonwoo had confessed that his family was riddled with debt and that most of the money he made went home to help his mom, barely leaving any for himself, which is why he had started taking on more clients lately.
Mingyu wanted to pay everything off right away, but Wonwoo had pointed out that his mom would be quite suspicious if all of their debt went away in just a day. So Mingyu had set up another bank account just for Wonwoo, whose eyes had nearly bulged out of their sockets when he saw all of the extra zeros in his account. Nonetheless, he had given Mingyu an extra blowjob as a thank you.
"Min~." As soon as he hears Wonwoo's voice whining through the phone, Mingyu knows exactly what he's calling for. The sunset streaming through the windows layers his office in a soft orange glow. Mingyu leans back in the chair, feet perched carefully atop his desk. Today had been less stressful than usual, which was saying a lot. His parents haven't called at all this week, nor has his father complained to Seokmin about how flawed of a son he is per usual.
Things have been calm, strangely enough. For the first time ever, Mingyu feels like he can breathe. Hanging out with Wonwoo has made him feel lighter than ever, and maybe it's the thrill of knowing that he's doing something forbidden—the way that his heart races knowing that they could be caught any minute, but Mingyu revels in it.
"Hm, you're not calling to tell me that you've spent all of your allowance already are you, darling?" He twirls around to face the window, sunset warmly seeping through the linen of his suit. He's already aware of the answer.
"Now baby," Wonwoo breathes out into the other end, tone sickeningly sweet. "I saw the cutest shoes while I was out with Soonyoung, but yesterday I spent—"
"Your entire allowance?" Mingyu cuts off. Wonwoo is silent, and Mingyu can't help but smirk to himself because messing with the younger man always gets him going. "I'm at work. We'll talk about this later," he says, attempting to sound nonchalant.
