"No matter old you grow, there is one thing that always stays intact. Your soul."

-5 years later-

"Phineas." Alexa suggested.

I rolled my eyes. "You want to name our future child Phineas? What's his brother gonna be Ferb?" I snorted, she ran a hand over her pregnant belly.

"They can't all be winners." She shrugged, thwacking me in the head with her pen.

I heard soft little breaths behind our bedroom door.

We looked to each other.

"3... 2... 1.." We mouthed.

"Mama? Papa?" Melody peeked her head inside, her blonde curls in pigtails.

She closed the door skipping over to our bed.

We made space in the middle of the bed, so that she could get in.

"I had a dream that demons ate uncle Ry, and then he barfed on me." She cringed, glancing between the both of us.

That sounds very disturbing...

"You wanna hear a funny story?" I questioned, poking her side.

"Oh yes." Melody nodded.

Alexa gave me a 'where are you going with this, it better not be inappropriate' look.

Melody curled up in my lap, pulling on her mom's arm so that we could all be closer.

I don't even have a story prepared.

"You know she had a fat crush on me?" I pointed to Alexa.

"I did not." Her mouth parted open.

"Yeah baby, it was like freaking humongous. I tried to be casual about it, but there was no stopping the inevitable. I even got into fights with Ryder about it because she was just so obsessed with me it was a shit—"

Melody cut me off, placing a finger on my lips. "Don't say bad words." She whispered, I suppressed a smile.

"Sorry." I whispered back.

"Also, you're lying because mama already told me everything, and that's not how it played out. It's a sin to lie, you know that. Right?"

Did I just get scolded by a five year old?

"You tell him." Alexa gave her a high five.

"How come all of the kids at school have old wrinkly parents and you guys are so so young?" She glanced between the both of us, oh Jesus christ.

"It's—y'know how- I uh-" A knock on the front door cut off my train of thought.

"It's nearly 10PM, who's here?" Alexa made way to stand, but then footsteps began rushing up the stairs.

What the hell?

"Guys! Guys, this is serious!" Abby burst in.
