ROWAN FELT HELPLESS. molly was becoming more and more attached to silas, and she couldn't help her. as much as she pleaded and begged— silas had control over her.

he had a way with words. he was able to morph anyone into being his pawn. he silent stare could put anyone in a trance. and that is exactly what happened to molly, for a second time.

quinn and rowan saw less of molly. she was becoming a frequent visitor, rather than a flat mate. she would stay at silas place for days on end, and stop by every so often.

"i just don't know what to do with her," she complained, pushing her hair away from her face. she looked at george, who leaned against the back counter of the ivy.

they were both stood in the kitchen area, waiting for the toaster to pop. this occurred on many occasions. george stood next to rowan, while she worked. many costumers began thinking he was a new staff member.

hattie, the old women who would come in everyday walked up to the counter. rowan stepped away from the toaster, leaving george alone.

"hey hattie," she began, her bright smile rising. "you okay?"

"i'm okay, honey," hattie placed her cold hand into rowans. "i'll just take a few serviettes, if that's okay."

"yeah, no problem," rowan immediately grabbed a pile of serviettes, that where laced with a floral pattern.

"that boy, over there," she pointed to george. rowan looked over at him, and he perked up immediately. he waved softly at hattie. "is he your boyfriend?"

rowan giggled slightly. she knew hattie was nosy, she wanted all the gossip. "no—no. just a good friend."

hatties eyes twinkled. she nodded slowly. rowan could tell that hattie did not believe her.

"really, he isn't," she declared. "now, you go back to lauren with those tissues, won't you?"

hattie gave her a quick smile, before turning on her heals, and walked away. rowan shook her head sheepishly.
