Johnnie chuckled and wiped away the tears from his eyes. "Hey, don't cry. You don't have to thank me for anything. I'm just glad I could help you figure things out. And I'll always be here for you, no matter what. I'll always be your anchor when you feel lost."

Jake nods. He pulled Johnnie into a hug again, the pressure helping him relax as he takes a few deep breaths.

Johnnie hugged him back tightly, feeling the tension in his body slowly fade away. He gently rubbed his back, trying to soothe him. "Take your time, baby. I'm not going anywhere. Just breathe."

"i just felt lost for so long–" Jake pulled back, hyperventilating a bit as he flapped his hands.

Johnnie noticed his hyperventilating and quickly tried to calm him down. "Hey, hey, it's okay. Just breathe, Jake. Deep breaths. In and out. In and out."

Jake was feeling everything all at once suddenly. He started to have an overstimulation episode as he hyperventilates.

Johnnie immediately recognized the signs of an overstimulation episode and quickly moved into action. "Jake, listen to me. You're having an overstimulation episode. I need you to focus on your breathing. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Follow my lead, okay?"

"Why?!" Jake panicked, "I was feeling fine..!" His voice sounded strained as he is flapping his hands. Meanwhile he wasn't, he was overwhelmed with all the emotions he's been feeling tonight. Happy, depressed, anxious, etc.

Johnnie continued to try and soothe him, gently rubbing his back. "I know, I know. But sometimes emotions can be overwhelming, and they can cause an overstimulation episode. It's okay, you're safe. Just focus on your breathing and try to relax. I'm right here with you, and I'm not going anywhere."

Jake shuts his eyes tightly as he feels Johnnie hug him. The pressure of the hug started to track him back,

feeling found once again...
