A/n: So um, I haven't updated this book for a little over a month BUT IN MY DEFENCE I WAS BUSY!!! And besides this is a pretty long chapter, longer than the first two chapters combine so that makes up for my disappearance right???

Minor warning:

Swearing
Second hand embarrassment
May be out of character (again I'm sorry if I don't get the character's personality, traits or interactions correct since this is my analyzation of the characters and my own personal headcanons)

Fireball and Pound started to act more differently towards each other compared to how they interacted with the other objects.

This shift didn't happen overnight of course, it took several days for their conversations to not end with Fireball storming off in either anger or embarrassment.

However, as time went on, a noticeable change began to take shape.

For Fireball, it was more apparent. He wouldn't glare or shout at Pound the same way as he did with everyone else. Instead, he appeared more relaxed and calmer when speaking with him. It was as though, amidst all the things he usually despised, Pound was one of the few things he could tolerate.

For Pound, it was more subtle. He still acted like his usual friendly self, but he seemed more lively and upbeat when he was around Fireball. With others, Pound was agreeable, neutral and happy, but with Fireball, he allows himself to be sad, angry, passionate, annoying, and everything else. It was something you wouldn't notice at first glanced, but Fireball, thanks to his improved observing skills, he did.

For some reason, Fireball liked the thought of Pound being comfortable enough to be so candid around him, knowing that he of all people could be somewhat of a 'safe space' for Pound. Be somebody to someone or however that saying goes.

But the more he thought about it, the more he realised how absurd it would be for someone like Pound to feel this way about him. He should be the last person Pound should want to open up to! His bluntness and harshness contrasting to Pound's kind and encouraging nature.

Hell Fireball had never intended to become close with anyone in the first place! From his experience, these types of relationships took so much considerable time and effort that he saw little value in them. But with Pound, it felt so easy, at a point where it was almost unsettling.

Despite this, Fireball occasionally allowed himself to enjoy the thought. Even if he was pushing the boundaries of their weird bond. Pound was already doing so much as by just making an effort to hang out with him, which Fireball very much appreciated. He shouldn't be pushing the line too much anyways.
