Kavish let out a frustrated sigh and yelled, “Ughhh! Bhai!” Clearly exasperated with his brother's involvement in this plan.
The scene flashbacks to the previous night, after dinner, when Aneri pulled Ayden and Kavish into her room.
---
Flashback startsAneri and Ayden sat on the bed, while Kavish settled onto a nearby sofa. Everyone was talking—or rather, Aneri was doing most of the talking.
Where did she suddenly find all this energy to go on like this?
Ayden and Kavish exchanged helpless glances, drowning in a sea of her nonstop words.
Just then, Kavish’s phone buzzed. Ayden’s eyes flicked to the side table where Kavish’s phone lay. A message notification lit up the screen.
Curious, Ayden glanced at Kavish’s home screen—and paused.
There, staring back at him, was a photo of Kavish with a girl—smiling warmly. Ila.
His eyes narrowed, sensing a connection.
Of course. Ila. His fairy’s best friend. There had to be something between them.
An idea sparked in Ayden’s mind.
“What’s this girl’s photo doing on your wallpaper?” Ayden asked, holding the phone up, curiosity dripping from his voice.
Kavish flushed, caught off guard. “Bhai, she’s my girlfriend. Ila. But wait—do you know her?”
“Yeah. I met her at Oberoi’s daughter Aeni’s birthday party.” Ayden’s expression stayed neutral.
“Aeni is her best friend. Actually, I couldn’t go to the party… for reasons,” Kavish muttered.
“Because my Ila suddenly wanted a breakup.” Kavish thought inwardly.
Kavish’s voice rose in mock surprise. “But Bhai, did you go? I can’t believe it!” He chuckled.
Aneri piped up, “Are you guys talking about Aeni? Bhai, that’s the same girl we ‘lifted,’ right? She’s so cute—I liked her a lot.”
“Yeah, that’s exactly who we’re talking about. You know Bhai went to her party?” Kavish said, as if that was earth-shattering news.
“I know. I’ve met Aeni too,” Aneri added confidently.
“Woah! Everyone's met Aeni, bas ek main hi reh gya.” Kavish joked, sarcastically.
Ayden suddenly blurted out, “Ila’s going on a trip with Aeni, right? Why don’t we all go? We’ll have fun, and you’ll get to meet Aeni too.”
Kavish and Aneri stared, shocked.
“Bhai, how do you know they’re going on a trip?” Kavish asked, confusion and surprise mixing on his face.
Ayden cleared his throat, avoiding eye contact. “Umm… yes, I know.”
“We also know that you know, but how?” Kavish exclaimed.
Aneri burst out laughing. “I knew it! I finally get it now!”
Ayden narrowed his eyes. “What do you mean?”
Between giggles, Aneri said, “Oh please! I saw you staring at her in the car, Bhai!”
“What? Bhai, you were looking at some girl? Wait… is it Aeni? Tell me!” Kavish was practically bouncing with excitement.
“Yeah, Bhai likes Aeni. Right, Bhai?” Aneri teased, wagging a finger.
