Chapter Three

When I came around, all that was in my vision was those goddamn crystal eyes that had captivated me just moments before.
"You okay?" Colby asked as I closed my eyes again, the throbbing pain in my leg fading slowly.
"I'm okay, the pain just got to me for a moment." I opened my eyes to look at him, sitting up and feeling my hair coming loose from its bun. I watched as Colby took his flannel from my lap and looked at it for a moment before ripping the bottom of it away from the rest of the fabric. I gasped as he did so, looking at him with confusion.
"You need something tied around your leg to help with the bleeding." His face stayed emotionless as he worked.

As he concentrated on making sure the piece of fabric was tied tightly enough to stop the bleed, I took this time to study him. I gazed at his eyes that were slightly squinted as he struggled to see what he was doing due to the dimness of the one torch that acted as our light source. I observed as his fingers littered in rings fumbled with the fabric, trying to get it in the perfect position. I watched as he blew upwards to keep his beautiful brown hair out of his eyes, resisting the urge to run my fingers through it and hold it back for him. I watched slight dimples appear on his cheeks as he finally got the right spot for it to be. I noticed how he glanced up at me numerous times to check if I was alright with small looks.

After a couple of minutes of him fumbling around with the fabric, he finally leaned back. I looked down at my leg, no longer seeing a huge gash in my flesh, but instead a piece of red-stained green fabric was tied around the middle of my calf, the pain barely noticeable now. I looked back up at Colby and smiled.
"Thank you so much." I said as he stared into my eyes as intensely as I stared into his. We stayed like this for a moment before he cleared his throat and stood up, offering his hand to me, his face still showing no emotion. With a little hesitation, I took his hand in mine and he slowly pulled me up, keeping my hand in his in case I went unsteady again. I put my foot on the floor and managed to stand upright without there being an unbearable amount of pain.

"Guys, we have a problem." The blonde walked back down the corridor towards us, the rest of the group following behind. "There's nothing big enough for you two to climb across, nothing stable to hold your weight at all." Colby sighed, running his ring filled fingers through his golden hair.
"Okay, so we'll jump." I spoke up. Colby's head shot up and he turned to look at me.
"Absolutely not. That jump is way too far for us to make. We'll have to find another way out of here." He demanded, making me cross my arms. I hated being told what to do.
"Fine," I shrugged. "You waste your time."
"Rosalie, I mean it. We'll find another way out." He argued with me. I sighed, putting my hands on my hips.
"Colby, how are we possibly going to get out of this fucking room? There's one window that boarded up, the only door in the room leads to the fucking hole outside. We can't go up or down. That is the only way out." He looked at me for a second before groaning in frustration.
"You're already hurt." His blue eyes flashed with concern for a moment before going back dim. I needed to get out. It was much too small for me to stay here any longer.
"If I think I can do it, I'll be fine. Wish me luck."

Before he could even process what I'd said, I had already backed up to the wall and was running towards the deep pit in front of me.
