The kids in daycare sang along with the happy birthday song. It's sound filled the classroom and its client's face lit up with a shy smile. (Y/N) couldn't help but smile at his cute reaction. When the song ended everyone clapped and the teachers left Lee Heeseung to open his presents. There weren't too many but there was enough to see that he was popular even in daycare.
(Y/n) watched him with anticipation, her gift was not wrapped, to her the gift was more meaningful than all the rest. Heeseung opened many gifts, deliberately avoiding (y/n) gaze. He was secretly waiting for her gift.
He found himself disappointed when he opened all of them there wasn't a single one from his crush, ((y/n)) not even a card. Nonetheless he still thanked everyone politely.
He finally held (y/n) gaze, unaware she'd be staring back. Her bright smile grew even wider and butterflies grew in his stomach. She approached him shamelessly, as kids do.
He looked at her eyes as her smile relaxed. "Happy birthday Heeseung." He smiled back. Feeling hopeful she'd recive something.
"T-thank you." Then before he even could process, (y/n) took a step closer to him before bringing her face up to his cheek and placing a kiss on it. She pulled away quickly.
No one around them had been watching, which caused Heeseungs heart rate to accelerate. Both of them turned pink and looked away from eachother.
They both thought to themselves. "Did that really just happen?"
They were just kids, but Heeseung really liked the girl that lived next door to his grandparents house. It was a bonus for him that she also went to this day care, he got to see her everytime he visited the country side.
(Y/n) Didn't understand the concept of love but she looked in the mirror of the playroom as her face was bright pink. She covered her face in an attempt to end her embarrassment but the thought of being in the same room as Heeseung made her heart beat so much faster.
She thought giving him that kiss was worth it. She feared one day Heeseung would never come back to visit his grandparents and she needed... to take this opportunity.
"Picture time!" The adults called the kids in to take a photo with the birthday boy. (Y/n) stood next to Heeseung ignoring her racing heart. "Alright 1.2.3" *click*
The photo was taken and they were given a thumbs up. All the kids went back to playing accept her, she stared at the clock patiently knowing her dad was supposed to pick her up soon.
Minutes passed before the teacher called her aside to be dismissed. She took one last glance at Heeseung who was watching the ordeal. Before she left with the teacher to the doors where her dad waited.
————————————————————————
(Y/n) pondered as she suddenly remembered this memory of Heeseung. Her eyes racked over the picture of his birthday on her TV stand. Then they moved to her TV where she watched on YouTube.
En-o-clock was what she was watching. (Y/n) was a fangirl of Heeseung. She remembered watching the survival show I-land that created enhypen, just to see if he would debut. She couldn't believe he got the chance to debut, and even though it sort of hurt her to see him be an idol, she still cheered him on from home.
His grandparents, (who are her neighbors) have always been good to her even after all this time. Giving her food and in return she offers a helping hand.
She sat in her quiet house. Staring up at the TV remembering him. She thought of how her dad used to get so mad at him when they would play together, he was such a bully. Always stealing her toys and making her cry.
She laughed to herself. The sound echoing off the empty walls of her home.
Her dad was in the states caring for her sick grandma, she frowned. Knowing her grandmother was sick and that she has to stay here to manage his resturant. She couldn't even see her.
Too upset to continue watching, she turned her TV off and went to change into work clothes.
A white button up and black pants. She gracefully tied silky long hair up and grabbed her purse that laid on her bed, and phone she brought with her everywhere, before slipping her shoes on and leaving out the door.
It was now 11am, and she rushed to open the nearby store. Immediately she began to rummage around the cleaned store. Setting up her station. It was just a gimpap place, but it was a hassle all alone.
When she finished setting up she called Jia, one of her close friends. "Hey can you come help out today?... when? Like now. Okay thanks!" Her response became cheerful as Jia offered to help. In return (y/n) flipped the sign to open and waited patiently for her friend.
There was no order till her friend arrived. Jia, her light brown hair was in a bob and she had her makeup done to perfection, idol pretty. (Y/n) squealed when she saw her. "You look so pretty! Thank you for coming I'd be a goner without you."
Jia shook her head as she walked around the counter and grabbed an apron off the wall. "No worriessss... let's make some before orders pile in."
Even thought (y/n) had previously started making the rolls they still had a lot to go.
Time flew by since the girls laughed together and sang along to songs they played in the restaurant over the speakers. Quietly of course not to disturb the older customers they got.
It was a rather slow day and by 7pm the sun was setting, the store was empty. (Y/n) was turned around from the door talking to Jia when suddenly her eyes went wide. (Y/n) turned around to see what caused that look on Jia's face, as the usual bell of the store door jingled.
(Y/n) face filled with shock at the sight of who walked in.
Lee Heeseung met her shocked gaze. Standing along with him the six other members of Enhypen.
