As soon as Adam entered, he started looking for me. His long, curly hair kept falling over his eyes, which he repeatedly brushed away with his fingers. I was standing in the school hall, clutching my black bag to my chest, knowing Adam was on his way. Today was our Romance Day, but for some reason, I felt scared this time.

The moment he saw me, his charming smile appeared. He was ready to spend time with us. Both of us eagerly awaited Romance Day every year.

“Let’s go then my Rony Ron,” he said as he approached. He used to call me Rony Ron Sometimes. But my actual name is Ronald Dopito. I teased him, saying, “You can hardly wait.” He chuckled a little at that.

As soon as we stepped outside, I felt a jolt. George and Koni were busy kissing in the back. Koni had her back to us.

“Oh God, not again,” I exclaimed involuntarily.

Adam and I walked over to the car. Adam kicked the car and said, “Come on, guys, this is school. People are watching.”

Koni turned her face toward us, first looking at me, then addressing Adam, “It’s like you’re taking Ron for a worship session.” Her hands were still on George's face, to which George replied, “Yeah, why not? You know what kind of worship will happen there.” They both laughed and started kissing again.

“You should sit down; this isn’t going to end,” Adam said, opening the door for me before going to the other side of the car and getting in.

We spent every weekend at Adam’s parents’ Villa. It was quite big, There was a pool, and I almost drowned because of George's cruel prank. He thought it would be funny to scare me with a rubber lizard, knowing how terrified I am of them. I was standing by the pool, wearing just my shorts, reaching into the icebox for a beer. Suddenly, I felt something cold and slimy on my shoulder. I glanced over and saw that disgusting creature. My heart stopped, and I screamed so loud that Adam heard me from inside the villa. In my panic, I stumbled backward, losing my balance, and fell straight into the pool. The water was everywhere—rushing into my mouth, my nose—I couldn’t breathe. My arms flailed, but I couldn't swim. I was sinking. Just as I thought it was the end, I felt strong hands grabbing me. Adam. He pulled me out, saving my life in the nick of time.

Since then, I’ve wanted my weekends alone with Adam.

The villa was 2 hours away from our city. We always brought snacks from Lawrence's snack shop. We did the same this time. We all went to Lawrence’s snack shop. It felt like home. The owner, Lino Motas, knew us well.

I had asked Lino a couple of weekends ago, “Your name is Lino Motas, but why is this snack shop named Lawrence?”

“When I bought this snack shop twelve years ago, or you could say when the previous owner handed it over to me, it was already named Lawrence. I didn’t think it was right to change the name for their sake, since they had trusted me with it. Besides, they never came back.”

“What happened that made them leave so suddenly?” I asked out of curiosity.

“Their daughter fell ill, and it was necessary to take her away from here.”

Now, we were all at the counter, except for Koni, who had gone to use the restroom. The restroom was clean.
As soon as Koni came out and was washing her hands, suddenly the restroom door creaked open,
Koni slowly turned around and stood in front of the door. At that moment, no one was inside; she was the only one who had just exited. The door was now ajar, and a little bit of the inside was visible.
Koni heard someone talking from within, but she couldn’t understand what they were saying. She stepped forward to open the door. As she forcefully pushed the door open, she heard a laughing voice near her ear.
