When Aradia finally made her way back to the ballroom, she found her family in the center, waiting for the king to arrive! Her shoulders relaxed as she saw that she arrived before him.
She walked towards her family...
"Aradia, where have you been?" King Arel asked
"I- I went to use the restroom and I got lost, this castle is giant!" She said, the lie slipping so hard out of her mouth...she has never lied her parents, but an inoffensive lie won't kill them, right? It was for their own good too, if she knew what her hidden powers were and she could control them more when her emotions prevail, they won't be in danger because of her...
"Are you sure? Did something happened?" Gwen asked her, like she knew everything, but that was impossible, it was just Aradia's over-thinking, nothing more!
"No, I assure-" Her words were interrupted by the main door opening wide and the shout:
"We are presenting you, his highness, king Kai of Lumar!" where everyone turned back for seeing him
She's heard a lot of stories about him and the royal family, but Aradia have never seen him in real life...Sophia wanted to show her a million times his pictures, but she's requested that it's not necessary...
He was a demon, he did such bad things for clearing this, he had shown his true face many times...he doesn't deserve to be a king, if he didn't want to use the chosen one against her kingdom, it'd have never existed that bloody night...
Aradia was just a teenager back then, but she remembers everything like it was yesterday...all the helplessly screams, cries...murders! All the blood that was covering her gown, her face, her hair...the people she couldn't save, because it was too late... those memories were haunting her for such a long time, for years, exactly!
She blinked, all the memories disappearing...
When she turned, her jaw almost dropped! Her face became pale, as she saw a ghost, but it was worse...she saw a demon!
It was him, the man that she fought with, when she wanted to get in the library was him! The king! Because of him, she lost every chance she could have in finding out the truth! But the most scariest thing was that she made the king of Lumar, one of the most powerful kings Lumar has ever had, her enemy! She was the one who declared this!
She started gasping for air, as he approached her! He recognized her, of course he did! She was a fool! She could have changed her clothes, for getting unnoticed, but was too distracted because of Grey that she didn't realize! What if he kills her? What if he calls the guards for killing her instead, because of the attempt to assassinate the king...her plan wasn't this, but he could think that?! What if he reveals her intentions and what she was really doing all this time... to her family? Every question from her mind ends with an answer...her, being dead!
His husky voice, got her out of her thoughts!
"King Arel, a pleasure that you could attend to this amazing night of our kingdom! I know that Elvandar and Lumar are not exactly in very good terms, but I hope this will change in time!" The king of Lumar, Kai, has said, and Aradia swore that in her entire life, she didn't hear someone more fake than him! Forget demon, he's death itself!
