(Six years later)
I woke up to noise in the hall like every Saturday morning, Sean isn't in bed, so I know who's out in the hall, I got out of bed and put my robe on and cracked the door watching my husband and son Washington running down the hall. As my son got closer to the door, I opened it and said gotcha, he said daddy Sean is chasing him again there playing tag, Sean tagged him and said your it and ran down the hall.
Washington told me to put him down so he can get his daddy, and for me to come and play with them, I put him down and said I'll get dressed as he's running down the hall. I'm so blessed to have a husband and a son, which everyone spoils him from gran to Sean's parents and all my siblings, even Ms. Parker with her pretending to be mean self.
We had Washington a year after we were married, through a surrogate, but Sean adopted him so that makes him his son too, bae is like a five-year-old when he's around Washington, I went back into the room and took a quick shower and got dressed. I went downstairs and Ms. Parker said if I or my brother wanted breakfast it's too late, she already done the breakfast dishes, she hasn't changed at all, and we wouldn't have it any other way. I told her I can wait until lunch; she said, and RJ can wait too, I asked her where's my family, she said out back running around Sean is just a big kid, and RJ is still in bed.
I went outside, I looked up and said I thank you God every day for them, and for Sean being a sort of a stay-at-home dad, but he paints and sells his paintings, he does have an art gallery that he goes to three times a week, but he's always home when Washington gets out of school. I watched them running around, Washington told me to come and play with them, I did, I saw Ms. Parker looking out the door smiling, I've never seen her smile until we brought Washington home, she pretends to be hard, but she's really not at least with our son, she still stays in our ass.
RJ came out of the balcony room his room, he told us to quiet down out here he's trying to sleep, Sean told him if he got to bed at a reasonable time, he'd be up with us, he knows he just got here an hour ago. RJ said just keep it down he went back into the room; does he really think we'll keep it down when we're playing with our son, we played out here all morning, I smiled at them. Sean said he hopes that smile isn't because I want to do you know what, he gave it to me last night, Washington asked what's you know what, Sean told him never mind.
For a five-year-old the boy is very smart, I told Sean I'm just smiling because I'm happy with my little family and he took care of me very well last night, put me right to sleep after we finished.
Ms. Parker came out and told us to wash up for lunch, we went into the house, and did that and sat down and ate, RJ came down he said how about he takes Washington to the park and get ice cream after lunch. I told him as long as he's not using our son to pick up females again, he said can't a guy just take his favorite nephew to the park, Sean said he's his only nephew.
I asked Washington would he like to go to the park with his uncle RJ, he said OKAY, but RJ has to be good and not say bad words in the car, RJ told him he'll be good. RJ suggested that we should go out and do something, all we do is spend the whole weekend doing kids' stuff with Washington, in fact he'll take the kid to kid's world, and we can go on a date.
Sean asked RJ can he trust him, remember what happened last time we let him take Washington to kid's world, RJ said he didn't start it the other kid that was twice his nephews size pushed him, I said but he didn't have to punch the father in the face, we didn't like having to get them out of jail. Ms. Parker said the blind leading the blind, RJ is just a big kid himself, anyway she's leaving now, and Sean told her he'll get dinner for us, she told Washington to be good, she just shook her head at RJ, and she told him to do the lunch dishes she left.
