Water slowly lapped at the cannel brick walls of Amsterdam as the sun shined between the thinning clouds that passed through the sky. Water puddles were scattered around the roads and sidewalks as people made their way outside to enjoy the clear weather.

Droplets of sweat were plastered on my palms as fear and excitement flowed through me, hoping that these emotions will get me through the interview. A warm drink was placed before me along with a fresh pastry from the bakery across the waterway.

"Rain Done?" A man questioned me from behind as he got off his bike. I nodded my head slightly in case a word I did not intend slipped out of my mouth or my voice rose an octave.

The man walked around the table to the chair opposite of me, pulling out his mobile device that was tricked out with a pen and an extra hard casing for a safe impact. A young waitress came over and got his order of coffee and a blueberry muffin, that I say is delicious on a cold day.

"I'm glad we could meet here today, though, I know you maybe busy later on." The man said setting a recorder between us on the table.

"Oh, it's no worry. This is my leisure day, first in a while." I responded as I tapped my fingers on the arm rest of my metal chair and bounced my leg with nervousness.

"To start, I want to ask you how you happened to get in touch with Spinnin' Records." At the mention of the record company that I am signed too got me to finally relax.

"Actually, the CEO of Spinnin' contacted me after he heard some of my tracks that I put on YouTube, my Twitter account, and Facebook. Though, it was out of my own pure enjoyment to do so," I started then stopped after I tried to remember what happened next. "Um, then, I think..."

"Please, continue, Ms. Done." The man said taking a sip from his steaming coffee and breaking off pieces from his pastry.

"Right, then, we set up a meeting, but for us to do so I had to make two new tracks for him and the executives to listen too. I was super nervous and anxious at the same time, that usually happens though."

"What happens?" He asked like he wasn't paying attention to me, but to the phone in front of his face.

"Emotions and feelings rush around my body all at once making me want to throw up and jump around at the same time. It makes me feel alive most of the time the other it makes me dead inside." I said outlining my name on the composted coffee cup.

Rain Done was just the English way of spelling and pronouncing my name. Rainn Donee is the correct way, only my family and friends spell my name the right way, but one person says it with their perfect voice in the perfect way.

"Do you need to get that?" The man asked turning his attention away from his mobile device and to mine now in my hand. Holding up my pointer finger towards him, I answered my vibrating phone.

"Rainn, you have to come down quick!" A loud voice boomed through the speaker as a smile appeared on my face. "This is so totally cool you have to listen to it!"

"Hello to you too, Martin. I will come down in half a hour, but try not to die of excitement." I responded. Hanging up after we said our goodbye to each other, I looked to the man who has now decided the interview was over.

"Thank you for talking with me, Ms. Done. Hope to see you around Amsterdam." He said hopping on his bicycle and heading with the wind towards the center of town.

I gripped my coffee cup and sighed deeply, hoping that the interview went well. Standing up, I stuffed my free hand into my leather jacket pocket and walked off down the sidewalk to my shared apartment.

Music blared from the room at the end of the hall as I closed the door behind me and walked up the steep flight of stairs. Reaching into my back pocket for my keys, I rested my coffee on my raised knee and pushed the key into the lock.

As soon as I opened the door, the music stopped and the whole apartment went silent. Stepping through the threshold, I placed my coffee down with my keys and slipped my jacket and boots off at the door.

"Martin," I squeaked out as I walked to the kitchen. "What is it you wanted to show me?" A chair rolled down the hallway with a young boy sat in it.

"Follow me, Rainn," He said as he grabbed the frame of the doorway and pushed himself back down the hallway. "You'll love this."

Rolling me eyes with a smile on my face, I followed him to our hangout room at the end of the hallway. Though, it was hard to walk around in there with wires, computers, and other electronic devices laying around everywhere, I stepped my way to his table and laptop.

"Just listen and enjoy," Martin said holding up his headphones and placing them on my head as I took a seat in a chair beside him. "Get ready for your eardrums to explode."

"Wait, are they really going to explode?" I questioned as he pressed the play button and I braced myself for what he had in store.

It was heavenly, beautiful, and the most gracious thing to bless my ears. The beats were heavy and resilient. The extra nosies and sounds that Martin incorporated helped keep the song upbeat and energetic.

When it ended, I wanted to listen to it again, then over and over till, what Martin had said earlier, my eardrums burst. My mouth was agape and my eyes were trained on the computer screen before me.

"So," The brown haired boy asked. "Do you love it or do you hate it?" Closing me mouth and looking over at him, I gave the biggest smile that I could ever give him.

"Love, would be an understatement. To use that would would be saying I didn't enjoy it and boy, did I fucking enjoy it!" I screamed as I ripped the headphones off and jumped out of my seat.

I bounced around on the balls of my feet and pulled Martin out of his seat to dance around with me. His hands were clammy, but he now knew that this song was going to be a hit.

"Wait, Rainn," Martin said as he stopped hopping around the wires. "How-how big could this get? How big could I get?"

Seriousness filled the room and I looked at my friend as I placed my hands on his shoulders. I let a smile creep across my face to tell him everything was going to work out just fine.
