XPLR | Colby Brock

Chapter Five

Colby and I held eye contact for a few moments before he cleared his throat and looked away.
"Well, I'm Sam." The blonde told me with a smile. Cute.
"The name's Jake." The tall guy folded his arms, sending me a small smile himself.
"Corey." Said the man with braids, sticking his hip out with a hand on it, doing a peace sign with the other whilst winking. So Corey's definitely the funny one. Noted. "And you know Colby." I nodded, glancing at the brunette with the crystal eyes.
"We already exchanged names when we met up with them. Xavier and Emelie." Colby pointed to my best friends, looking at Colby who gave him a nod.
"So, you ready?" Jake asked us all. We all let out a cheer. Again, all of us except Colby. 
"Wait. We're filming for our YouTube channel. Do you guys mind being in it?" Sam asked. I shook my head and so did the other two. "Sick!"

Jake pulled a camera out and I watched as he fiddled around with it for a moment before it made a small beeping noise. Jake put his thumb up to them.
"What's up guys, it's Sam and Colby." Colby yelled enthusiastically with a huge grin on his face, taking me by surprise. His eyes shone brightly and his dimples were very noticeable. He was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't help but keep my eyes on him the entire time that him and Sam were filming, it's like my eyes simply couldn't move from him.
"Today, we're at the Beechwood Asylum to do some investigations and we bumped into a few guests before we could start filming!" Sam explained and pointed over to us as Jake panned the camera at us. "We've got Em, Xavier and Rose!" We all waved when Sam said our names, introducing us. "We're also here with Corey and Jake, the OGs!"
"We had the craziest experience before we could start filming, non-paranormal though." Jake spoke and Corey bounced up and down.
"Yeah, Colby was a hero!" He grabbed Colby's arm, still jumping up and down causing him to let out a laugh. A laugh that I wouldn't mind listening to forever.
"Yeah, such a hero. Basically, I came into the building before the guys as we were going to do a little game of sardines, but before I could find a place to hide, I saw Rose walking in front of me. The ceiling was cracking above her and I knew it was going to fall so I ran forward and grabbed her so she wouldn't get hit." He explained. 

My stomach filled with butterflies when he said my name, glancing at me quickly. 
"Yeah, then Rose jumped over that big ass hole. Colby tried to jump too, but he miscalculated the jump. Rose was fucking quick to notice that." Sam nodded at me. I smiled softly, blushing slightly as I was the topic of conversation. 
"So, before we start investigating, we're going to do some research about the place. Any of you guys know why it's so supposedly haunted?" Colby asked.
"There's no supposedly about it. This place is definitely fucking haunted. This asylum has 67 buildings and housed more than 1200 patients, plus 500 members of staff. Because mental health hardly had any knowledge, there were some cruel treatments. There was use of straight jackets and shackles and as a punishment towards the patients who self-harmed, their teeth would be pulled out. Other punishments were electroshock therapy and isolation boxes. Even lobotomies were performed here, especially in the cellar." I spoke up, getting so invested in the asylum's history that I completely forgot the guys were filming. I blushed and tucked a stray purple stand behind my ear. "Sorry."
"Wow. You know all of that just from the top of your head?" Jake asked, looking gobsmacked at my knowledge. I nodded, looking away from the boys now that the camera was pointed in my direction.

"Well, guys, I guess Rose is going to have to come join us on every investigation from now. She's fucking awesome!" Sam laughed, nudging Colby, who nodded in agreement.
"Come on, let's go straight to the pit." Sam grinned at us, making me shiver.
