A considerable amount of people think they can tell the truth from a lie, I was one of those people who thought they knew the truth
The truth is all men are liars. We often experience pain and disappointment because of our expectations but I didn't know expecting someone to be a decent person would get me hurt on that day.
My heart skipped a beat and sweat dripped from my hands thinking of the day of the incident and being close to where it happened. In Xara, a small kingdom but loved by all because they send in tons of goods from all around the world.
The countless gems on the ceiling dance in the
flickering lights.
Wide, stained glass windows.
There is where the war is supposed to end, me getting married to the prince of Zodel.
I held onto the prince's arm he pulled me away from the conversation with the princesses.
We walk down the long curved red carpet steps,
"Are you feeling hungry at all yet?"
I nodded. It felt like everyone was watching but only one person was watching.
"You remember my sister right? She got in trouble with my dad recently."
I give him a gaze.
" No wonder she's not here. I'll have to talk to her soon, I haven't talked to her in a while.
interested in getting married to anyone here ?"

He frowns, looks down, and shakes his head.
I am dumbfounded that he likes no one here.
At the last step, we walk to the food table.
He seized a glass for me but before he could give it to me Someone grabbed my arm and dragged me under the stairs.

I could see his face, his freckled face, and green eyes. "What are you doing here?" He whispered.
Xavier Graves, my twin brother, "I was invited."
His eyes look worried, almost concerned. I looked around and eyes were on me. This is unlike him.
"You've barely talked to Dorian" dose he want me to get married to him or not?
"I don't see how this is any of your concern." I yanked my arm out of his My heels clicked on the floor,
People chatting in the background echoed through my ear. I felt his hand grip mine again.  "You're not safe here." I break free from his grip.
"Xavier, quit stating things I already know.
I'm Guessing Dad sent you to watch over me?"
My hand holds my wrist

"I don't see how that is any of your business."
"I'll stay out of your business if you stay out of mine."
I spat.
I strode down the hall and around corners
My hands pushed the two unbendable doors open that led to a library. My mind quickly went from cloudy to clear.
The floor went from wood to rug,
I walked to the second floor of the library to pick out a book. My hand slides along the old dusty shelf.
Then I pick up one of my favorite books.
"Do you have what I am looking for?"  A deep familiar voice echoed.

I walk to the wooden rail as quietly as possible to listen to them talk. The boy he was talking to under the steps stood up and started to walk up the steps and someone with blonde hair grabbed me by my arm, dragged me to the shelf, and put his hand on my mouth to keep me quiet. His grip was firm but not painful. I tried to struggle, but he whispered in my ear,

"Don't make a sound." I could feel his breath against my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
I strained to hear what was being said behind the shelves. The voices murmured, indistinct. After a few moments, the blonde guy loosened his grip slightly but kept his hand over my mouth. I felt his tension ease just a bit, but the intensity in his eyes implied we weren't out of danger.

"Give me something stronger." I could hear the footsteps moving and my heart began pounding.
"You gotta pay twice the price then"
"I want wolfsbane. If you don't have it I would like to take my business elsewhere."
I hear the click of a case and he gives him wolfsbane. I hear the sound of coins hitting each other. Quickly he glances around as if to ensure no one is watching.
My eyes glance over at him, I see the bag of coins fall onto the librarian's desk.

"You will Keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you."
I felt like vomiting. The blonde guy looked around one last time before cautiously removing his hand from my mouth.
His eyes looked at me with fear and worry. He leaned in close, his voice barely above a whisper. "Stay here," he said urgently. "Don't make a sound, and don't come out until I say it's safe." I sighed. I am on the verge of tears. My breathing is a bit unstable. I push my hair back with my hands

Though the librarian saw me, I should be safe still I kept nervously glancing at the door.
Minutes felt like hours as I hid behind the stacks, each creak of the building threatening to give away my position. Just when I thought I couldn't bear it any longer, the blonde guy returned.

"It's safe, Let me walk you."
"I don't know what you mean by safe," I said full of anger.
My knees felt weak from the shock But I won't admit it to a stranger. The library, usually a place of solace, now felt like a labyrinth of danger. I wanted to walk right past him But He grabs my gloved hand and asks again if he could walk me just until he knows that I'm safe.
I nodded, He walked me to wait for the Carriage to arrive and we sat at the water fountain waiting for it.

"It's late. Are you sure you should be going home by yourself?" I glanced at him.
"Are you saying you want to take me home? That is very kind of you but I'm sure I'll be alright."
"I wouldn't want you to take the chance of a robbery. I would suggest you take a friend with you." The carriage comes into my view, I stand up then he does after.
"Thank you, but I'll be fine. Besides Henry is an excellent fighter."

He gave me his hand and I took the first step into the carriage, "may I ask for your name?" He smiled
"Eythora Graves." I looked into his eyes, and I saw the look again. The look of fear, shock. Just the look you would give someone like me.
"May I ask your name?"  He removes his hand from mine.  "Killian Haven" he looks up at me.  "Nice to meet you, Killian"  I step into the carriage and shut the
Door.  "Take her home."
Killian says to the coachman. "You don't know Her that well do you?"

The carriage started to push forward. The rocks made the ride bumpy. It's dark out. "Woah!"
The carriage stops and I almost fly forward.
The coachman, Henry, gave me a hand and helped me out of the carriage.

I arrived at the only innovation at the Valley of Salt,
The place where criminals are banished to.
I quickly change into comfortable clothes and I take my hair down. I flopped onto the twin-size bed, which felt like a rock. I look up at the ceiling.
Xavier, what are you using that poison for?
I thought to my self letting out a deep breath.
