This is hard to answer for those trying to seek a relationship with Jesus, for one the answer is different for people. I will give my personal perspective on it so please take this part with a grain of salt, since this is what I experienced. Think of this section like my testimony and my personal opinion on this topic. I have heard many testimonies from people YouTube, I watched a YouTube channel called Delafé Testimonies and other channels. That being said most of them but not all of them have heard Jesus Christ literally speaking to them via Holy Spirit. They state it was a clear voice in their heads, others say they speak with Jesus in dreams. There are people who said they saw Jesus face to face and time stopped, and some people said they saw Jesus through an out of body experience. Meanwhile those unfortunate saw Jesus when they died and Jesus gave them a second chance of redemption. My recommendation is to watch testimonies and it will give an understanding on how Jesus works. Of course you need to pray or ask Jesus to talk to you, of course it will be on his terms when Jesus will speak to you. For those who can't hear his voice he would send people to talk to you, some testimonies people had said some random person would go up to them and them straight up face to face Jesus need you to do something, needs you to go somewhere, needs you to repent, and so on. Of course always verify yourself that if the person is really from Jesus. In ways of doing that you can just pray about it and have patience which would require you to wait. Jesus will come just take time and we need patience. For me I haven't really heard his voice while I am awake, mainly in dreams but it's rare. Like to my knowledge I dream about Jesus in my dream like once and talked me. Of course I have seen him in total like 6 or 4 times which out of those Jesus talked to me once. Again it's different for everyone and just have patience.
