Chapter 7 Aanvi 🦋

The woman in front of me rolled her eyes and again opened her mouth to speak when there were loud heels sound and there was a woman walking-running on her long pencil heels from the middle row and her whole was red, as if she is in rage or something. I sidelooked at the woman in front of me but she looked like as if she is used to this, completely normal.

After that woman stepped out of the front door. Luca came out of the dark and as he stood in front of us, the woman beside me asked him,"what did you do this time, brother?" "Nothing just told her the truth, but you know her."was his reply.

Wait, brother? She is his sister, that's why she was giving such an aura, a complete match to Luca. He looked at her and then made a pissed off face saying,"May, that's my seat, right there, where you are sitting."

"I found it empty so I sat, finders are the takers, brother~" she said grinning again. He rolled his eyes and then took the seat on the other side of mine and sat on it, leisurely, spreading his legs and his thigh is literally stuck to mine this way.

Then May started speaking, asking him about me. He looked at me and under the table, grabbed my thigh and while rubbing circles on it over the fabric, he was talking about me to his sister. Meanwhile, I was trying my best to not act as a fool here, I just want to get out, someone help me!

As they were talking, just then the lights went out and their was silence and darkness all around. I couldn't see anything or anyone around me and even feel apart from the ongoing circles on my thigh which didn't stop or flinch as the lights went out.

No one spoke anything and the lights were out for like 5 minutes as if  either they were expecting everyone to settle down and then they will tell the purpose or they are fixing the lights.

Just then someone voice started echoing in the whole hall and that voice said,"Good, now that everyone has settled down in their places, I have something planned to make this anniversary ceremony more special for my grandparents, in just few minutes, the lights will be back and all the couples will have to dance in some music. It is like a competition and the couple who will dance till the end will win the contest and will be given the crowns as their rewards on the stage and their will only one couple to win. Rules of the game will be that, you can't stop in the middle or else you will disqualified. Your dance will juged on some basis such as, syncing, expressions, grace, and even the people who are without any partner can vote for them, but remember this is a game so enjoy!"

And just after few moments, the colourfull lights were on and not the white ones, and light romantic songs were played. Everyone was going in front, with their partners and stood in a line and there was a young lady in stage looking at them with a mic in her hand.

Wow, this sounds so romantic. But being an introvert that I am, I will clearly mess things up, I just knew it.

I averted my gaze to May when she nuged my elbow and winked at me. I can't understand, what is she trying to tell me? Just then I felt Luca pulling my hand and standing up. Oh wait, I have to dance with him? Ball dance? But I don't dance, especially not these partner dance. How can I do this? No, I can't, I have to tell him.

I lifted my head up to decline his offer but seeing his gracious smile for the first time and seeing the exciting gaze of May, made me say 'yes'. And I stood up and as we were going in front, I nuged him and bent towards me and I told him that I don't know how to do these dance but he just said to follow his rhythm and everything will be fine.

I am going to embarrass myself in front of everyone, I can just feel it. As we stood in line, on more couple stood right in front of us and they looked quite the lovey dovey one. Infact, everyone looked but only we were the awkward one. We aren't even a couple to begin with, him saying such things doesn't mean it's true.
