Bang Chan stood at the gates of JYP International High School, the sleek architecture contrasting sharply with the familiar, laid-back vibe of his old school in Sydney. The autumn air in Seoul was crisp, cooler than what he was used to, and he pulled his scarf tighter around his neck. The imposing building before him seemed to hum with life, but Chan felt a pit of anxiety in his stomach. Today was his first day, and he was thousands of miles away from the place he called home.

"Well, here goes nothing," Chan muttered to himself as he pushed the gates open and walked in.

As he approached the main entrance, a group of students bustled past him, laughing loudly and chatting in rapid Korean. He caught snippets of their conversation but could barely keep up. Though he had studied Korean back home, it was still a bit overwhelming to hear it spoken so fluently and quickly.

Chan had barely taken a few steps into the hallway when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to find two boys grinning at him. They looked about his age, maybe a little younger, but there was a warmth in their expressions that made him relax slightly.

"Hey! You must be the new kid, right?" said the shorter of the two, his eyes crinkling as he smiled. "I'm Seo Changbin, and this is Han Jisung. We're in Year 11 too!"

"Yeah, we heard there was a transfer student from Australia," Jisung added, his tone light and friendly. "Welcome to JYP High! Need any help finding your way around?"

"Uh, yeah, actually," Chan replied, his voice betraying his nervousness. "I'm Bang Chan. It's my first day, and I don't really know anyone yet."

"No worries, mate," Changbin said, clapping Chan on the back. "We've got you covered. This school can be a bit of a maze, but you'll get the hang of it in no time."

As they walked down the corridor, Chan couldn't help but notice how different this school felt compared to his old one. The walls were adorned with posters promoting various clubs, from dance teams to study groups, and students moved with purpose, heading to their next class or meeting friends in the courtyard.

"So, Chan, what brings you to Korea?" Jisung asked, glancing at him curiously.

"My family moved here for my dad's job," Chan explained. "He's been working in Seoul for a while, and we finally decided to join him. It's a bit of a change from Sydney, though."

"I bet," Changbin said with a nod. "But hey, you'll get used to it. And we've got plenty of stuff to keep you busy. Are you into sports? Music?"

"Yeah, I'm really into music," Chan said, his eyes lighting up a little. "I used to play in a band back in Sydney. We weren't huge or anything, but it was fun."

Jisung's eyes sparkled with interest. "No way! That's awesome. We've got a music club here, and they're always looking for new talent. You should check it out."

As they rounded the corner, the trio entered the school's spacious courtyard. Students milled about, some sitting on benches, others gathered in groups under the trees. It was then that Chan spotted a figure that seemed to draw the eyes of everyone around him.

A tall boy with striking features and an air of nonchalance leaned against one of the pillars, a group of students surrounding him, hanging on his every word. His hair was a dark shade of blond, styled effortlessly, and his uniform was slightly untucked in a way that made him look both rebellious and cool. There was an undeniable charisma about him, the kind that commanded attention without even trying.
