The first day of the year. It's going to be a good year, as I graduate at the end of it and start my university study.
Actually, no. I'll graduate and go into one if the many businesses that my father used to own before he died. I've never expressed interest in office work, but no matter.
There's a girl up ahead, I call her Daze, but she is more commonly known as Daisy.
She takes the trouble to wait every morning to walk to school with me. It's fine to me, she's good at talking and I'm good at listening - so what's the problem?
Also, I like her, a lot. There's that occasional moment when our hands will touch or our arms would brush. It's worth it to walk with her.
She also seems to be a magnet for trouble that seems to fade if she sticks by me. It's a fair deal.
Today is like any other Spring day. Daisy talking over the sounds of waking birds and bugs, scents of perfume wafting in the air, and of course the tapping of shoes as kids hurry to school.
"This year's going to be amazing, I can feel it in my soul!" Her voice cuts off my contemplating manner.
My gaze switches to her. Energetic white smile, sparkling liquid eyes.
"You have a soul?" I avert my gaze after a sarcastic comment, predicting a dignified punch from her.
And as I guessed, she lightly taps my arm, like a play-fight slap.
"Of course I do." Daisy's expression switched to a childsh pout after an irritated huff.
We walked in silence for some time, until school loomed above us.
"Catcha later Lukies!" That would be the last I see of her until that night where her personality would be completely swung around.
"See ya Daze."I walked off to go and read for the next 10 minutes before the bell rang and 7 more hours of my life were sucked away.
