The new Toon

The new Toon [Unfinished]

It has been a long day for everyone here at the Gardenview Center. While everyone was eating in the Diner Peppermints attention was caught by Goob and Scraps as they talked about who the new Toon might be. Everyone but Shrimpo was excited and curious about the news of there being a new Toon, Peppermint thought about it while he waited for his Goob themed spaghetti.

After getting his food he gets up to eat in solitude. While walking he bumps into Rodger and Toodles!

"Ah... I'm sorry Peppermint.." Rodger apologies while Toodles holds her dog plush,

"Yeah sorry Mr. Peppermint!" Toodles apologies as well, Peppermint chuckles.

"No no... It's ok you two!" Peppermint reassures while waving both his hands gently and dismissively, he then thought he could try to conjure up a conversation with the two.

"Hey uhm... You both know about the announcement of there being a new toon... Right?" Peppermint asks, hoping they'd continue the discussion with him.

"Hmm... Well yes, ever since Dandy has dispatched the message everyone has been buzzing all about it!" Rodger replied before Toodles stepped in.

"I think they're going to be a candy just like you, Mr. Peppermint!" Toodles exclaimed which made the two men titter.

"Well i guess all we can really do is speculate before the big reveal!" Peppermint chuckled before the hunger finally caught up to him.

"Oh geez... I-I'm getting quite hungry... Please excuse me you two." Peppermint low-spiritly sighed, a bit sad to end the conversation so soon, Rodger nods.

"It's ok, Peppermint. We'll talk later, ok?" Rodger offered.

"Yeah and we'll make a bet! I think they'll be a lollipop!" Toodles added cheerfully, Rodger nods.

"Mhmm... Well then i think they'll be... A cassette." Rodger continued which made Peppermint think

"Well... I think they'll be a grasshopper." Peppermint responded, the three giggled as they all went their separate ways.

[Time skip!]

A day or two after the conversation Peppermint had with Rodger and Toodles, Dandy and Vee huddled everyone up at the auditorium for the final reveal, Peppermint was asking himself questions, unaware who was standing right beside him, Shrimpo... Peppermint HATED Shrimpo, everyone did due to his mean nature. Shrimpo had his hands on his hips, having his signature grumpy look.

"I hate waiting so long for this... This stupid announcement!" Shrimpo hissed which brought Peppermint back to reality, he turns to Shrimpo before giving him a nasty look. Peppermint was trying to think of a snarky reply to try and get back at him when Shrimpo turned to walk away from the stage. Peppermint watched Shrimpo walk out the two big doors of the auditorium before scoffing.

"Good riddance..." Peppermint grumbled before Vee came up on stage, holding her mic, she tested it before speaking into it.

"Hello everyone! I'm very happy to tell you all that we are going to finally let you all see the member of our crew!" Vee greeted, everyone cheered and laughed, excited for the big reveal. Dandy then stepped up to speak.

"Yup! I'm pretty sure you've all heard about-" Dandy then noticed that Shrimpo wasn't here, he felt relieved, knowing no one could interrupt them. Vee nudged Dandy which snapped him back to the stage, Dandy chuckles nervously before clearing his throat.

"Ahh sorry! I'm pretty sure you've all heard of word going around about a new toon, correct?" Dandy queried, making everyone cheer out "Yes!!", Dandy and Vee giggled, happy that all they saw were bright happy faces about this, Vee then took the stage again while Dandy went to the back stage to get someone.

"Well here she is! Our new waiter!" Vee announced, moving to the side to let who ever the new waiter was take the spot light. Everyone's eyes widened at the sight of the new toon... She was.... A spider?

The spider toon looked around, visibly nervous about everyone's eyes being on her, she takes a deep breath before going up to the front of the stage. She holds the mice Dandy gave to her before speaking through it.

"Uhm... Hello everyone! I'm Derray the Spider and i will be your new waiter and friend!" Derray greeted with a huge smile on her face. Everyone couldn't help but just stare at her in shock, her two extra limps and eyes, accompanied with large black fangs just made her look like a sour thumb with how the other toons looked. Peppermint saw this and started to clap at her introduction, melting a bit due to how nervous he felt doing this, but to his fortune everyone started to clap with him, letting Derray, Vee, and Dandy relax. Afterwards Vee started to speak again.

"Phew! We actually thought you guys didn't like her!" Vee joked while everyone slowly piped down the clapping, letting Vee speak in peace.

"Thank you. Now i think it's time we all head back to what we were doing earlier! Except for..." Vee looked through the crowd before her eyes spotted Peppermint, she smiled.

"Peppermint!" Vee exclaimed, everyone was a bit shocked, even Dandy. Dandy pulled Vee back a bit, covering the windscreen of Vee's mic.

"Are you sure about that? We all know how nervous Peppermint can get! What if he melts and leaves a mess all over the place again?!" Dandy whispered to Vee before she sighs.

"Come on, give Peppermint a chance! It's been a while since he's even gotten a chance to give a tour to someone around the place! Plus it'll help him steel up more! Which means less melting." Vee stated, giving reason to her choice. Dandy sighs.

"Fine... But your going to clean up after him if he makes a mess." Dandy groaned, Vee laughed.

"Hey... I'm not the maid around here now am i?" Vee replies rather smugly. In all honesty, Vee only chose Peppermint to let Tisha clean up the melted sugar he may leave behind. Dandy sighed before turning back to the crowd, uncovering the windscreen of the mic. Vee then spoke through the mic again.

"Before i was interrupted.... Peppermint will be giving Derray a tour of the Gardenview! I'm sure you can do that..." All of the lights then went to Peppermint. The thought of touring someone made him melt in anxiousness already.

"...Right Peppermint?" Vee finally finished her sentence. Peppermint nods which made Vee smile.

"Well that's all for today! thank you all for coming once again." Vee and Dandy then waved goodbye. Dandy brought me to you.

"FYI, Peppermint tends to... Melt. So please don't pressure him too much, ok?" Dandy whispered to Derray, to which she nods to. Dandy then left the two to go back to Vee, Derray looked at Peppermint as he stared at her, thinking about where to go first.
