Once Chance emerged from the bathtub, he tidied up the bathroom, got dressed, and we started getting ready for game night.
"I thought they were coming for dinner?" he inquired while setting up a mini bar with liquor for the men and wine and wine coolers for the ladies.
"Well, I love hosting, baby, so whenever we do something, we're going all out each time, turning it into an event," I replied, arranging the table as a taco buffet with all the fixings.
As my phone chimed with a notification for my Walmart order, I asked Chance to grab it. He nodded and retrieved the games I had ordered, setting them up as well upon his return. With everything in place, we were now just awaiting the arrival of our guests.
Shortly after the two couples arrived, I made the introductions. Frank seemed visibly nervous around A'Rio at first, but as we began eating and he realized A'Rio was laid back, he started to relax. Tiny and Te-Te were already acquainted from our long-standing friendship with Fin.
"Hey guys, would you be up for a game of charades?" I nervously proposed, unsure of how A'Rio would react, but Tiny seemed eager to play.
Everyone gathered in the living room, and to everyone's surprise, A'Rio was the first to agree, catching everyone off guard.
"Alright, Star, prepare to take this L!" A'Rio declared with a playful smirk. "We're going to dominate you to the point you feel like a guest in your own home!"
Te-Te agreed with her man. With a sly grin, "Game on! Chance, get ready to lose!"
Frank and Tiny exchanged a knowing glance, silently plotting their strategy. Frank, known for his humor, couldn't resist teasing, "A'Rio, don't take this defeat personally!"
As the first round kicked off, the competition intensified. Gestures grew more animated, guesses more outlandish, and laughter filled the room.
Amidst the amusement, A'Rio playfully remarked, "If that's their best impression, we've got this in the bag."
"Is it a bird? A plane?" Chance teased, earning a playful swat from Star.
The game of charades evolved into a night of laughter and camaraderie.
When the night was winding down, the ladies joyfully helped Star clean and straighten up. In no time, the house was filled with the comforting scent of cleanliness and the sound of laughter, back to its cozy state.
As Frank was leaving, he hugged Star tightly. "This was so much fun, sis. I truly enjoyed myself. We should do this every Friday night," he suggested warmly as he exchanged daps with the guys before he left.
Te-te spoke up excitedly. "We'll host next Friday!" She volunteered eagerly. Soon after, they shared heartfelt goodbyes.
Star turned, her face lighting up with a radiant smile. "Game night was a mother fucking success. We did that!" she playfully did a little silly dance.
Chance leaned back in his chair and beckoned her over. "Come here."
Without hesitation, she moved towards him and settled on his lap. He gazed into her eyes, his voice filled with emotion. "This has been the most incredible day of my life. Everything was perfect, and you, baby, you shine so brightly tonight. I love watching you host and ensure everyone was well taken care of. As long as you are in my life, I'll never fear the darkness within because you are my eternal light, my peace." He tenderly kissed her, leaving her breathless.
His gentle touch enveloped her in a comforting warmth that stirred emotions deep within her. A profound sense of peace washed over her, and she willingly surrendered to his embrace, a surge of euphoria coursing through her veins. As she melted into him, her limbs felt like jelly, every caress from Chance igniting a fire of passion within her. With each tender kiss on her eyelids, nose, and chin, she felt her very soul being drawn towards him.
