Gianna Rostova

My eyes parted slightly and I was immediately blinded by the sun pouring through the window. I closed my eyes again and turned my head into source of warmth and comfort. Matteo.

I opened my eyes again and was met with a pair of chocolate colored eyes, "Good morning." I say my voice was slightly groggy.

"Good morning, amore." he says, his eyes didn't seem sleepy.

I had asked Matteo to look for his mom last night and he found a picture of her. She had long blonde hair and green eyes. She looked kind and welcoming, but Matteo didn't say anything about it.

I guess that was normal, i mean, his mom abandoned him and he had only just seen a picture of her 22 years later. I'd be pretty lost for words too, even if was just a picture. But I was really happy Matteo did it in the first place and I was so proud of him.

"Good morning, did you sleep?" I ask concerned, getting off his chest.

"On and off as usual." He says, he gets off the bed, presses a kiss to my lips.

I couldn't help but smile after, when I was with Matteo everything was so much easier. Like it didn't matter. He was like a breath of fresh air in my life, he was perfect.

"Where are you going?" I ask him when he fixes his hair in my mirror, by running his fingers through it causing his brown hair to fall back over his eyebrows.

"Work." He says, simply.

It was 9AM, a usual time for working so I didn't put up a fight, although I didn't want him to over work himself.

"Thats nice, when are you going to be home?" I ask, I sat up, hugging a pillow to my chest. I was really excited to see him again.

Plus, I had a shift at the hospital.

"When do you want me home?" He turns to look at me with his brown eyes making my heart flutter and my cheeks redden.

When do you want me home.

It was such a basic question but Matteo made I sound so intimate, so sexy, I almost stopped breathing for a moment. He takes slow steps towards me until, he's right i  front of me and I was staring up at him from my- our bed.

I know, we had separate rooms. It really depended on which one we ended up in that night, but it didn't matter, both rooms were ours.

"I'll be here at 4." I say, releasing a breath I didn't realize I was holding.

"Then I'll be here at 3." He smirks at my shocked expression.

"You never finish work at 3." I protest. Getting Matteo off work at 4 was already pretty rare, but 3?

"I've also never slept with the same woman 3 nights in a row but here I am." A pink hue coats my cheeks and my heart rate quickens.

"Okay," I couldn't help but giggle like a teenager, "What are we gonna do when we get back?"

"Italy?" he says simply.

His suggestion was so sudden, so bizarre, my mouth flew open. How did he know I'd been wanting to go there for months?

"What?" I say, almost like a reflex.
