Daniel would regularly go to school early to use the practice field for training. On a day where Daniel did exactly that, October 24, Yune walks to school on her own, trying to answer her own thoughts.
While Yune takes a shortcut through a dark alley, she hears rustling in the dumpster as she walks by.
"What was that?'
As Yune just thought of it as a stray cat and turns around, she is suddenly grabbed and chloroformed.
"I warned you to stay away..."
As Yune falls asleep, She is taken away by the mysterious figure, later, she finds herself awake in a dorm room closet of Lunar Crescents for the JHS, tied up and with a taped mouth. Yune quickly tries to figure whose room it was, she sees a collage of Daniel and the kidnapper in a kissing pose, in short a poorly made collage of the kidnappers' dreams. Yune quickly adds it up in her head, realizing it was Grace who had kidnapped her.
Yune would turn out to be right. As Daniel finishes training, he goes to the front door of the school to wait for Yune as he usually does, but seeing that she hasn't arrived, he starts getting concerned. But his worries are put to the side for now as he hears someone call his name.
"Daniel!!!"
"Eh? Grace!"
"How are you doing, Daniel?"
"I'm just concerned..."
"Concerned? About what?"
"It's about Yune... it's not like her to be late."
"Don't worry about that now! We need to go to class!"
"*Sigh* Yeah alright..."
Grace takes her time, rekindling her friendship with Daniel, her plan was working flawlessly, Yune was out of the picture, so she could spend all her time with Daniel since Daniel mainly talked to Yune in his free time.
As they fully regain their friendship from a few years ago, they keep talking, but Daniel's concern for Yune keeps resurfacing in his mind. But Daniel's worries are being completely shunned to the side by Grace's efforts, she eventually invites him to her Dorm room.
"Oh, sure, I'd love to!"
"Great! 4:00 PM?"
"Works for me."
Meanwhile Grace's plan was being executed, Yune was still in the closet of Grace's dorm room, trying to untie herself, but the knots were extremely tight.
"Jeez, how long has it been?"
"Daniel should think there's something wrong about now..."
As Yune keeps trying to untie herself, around 1 & ½ hours later, she hears the bell ring. And around 15 minutes later, she hears someone walking into the room.
Grace walks into the room while Daniel waits outside, as Grace opens her closet and starts hiding away all the photos she has of Daniel, she whispers to Yune.
"Hi Yune! Just keep quiet, Daniel and I were always meant to be together! You were never meant to be here, so I'll dispose of you when it's all fixed!"
Yune looks terrified, tears slowly run down her face as she doesn't want that, she remembers that she promised Daniel that they'd be together forever. Grace invites Daniel in.
"Wait, Daniel? He's here!"
Yune listens from the closet as Daniel walks in, she immediately confirms that it is in fact Daniel who walked in. They have a talk over a few cookies, but as Grace is ready to confess, Yune slams her body into the closet door.
"What was that?!"
"Sorry! I have some loud neighbors!"
Daniel thinks that something was definitely off, so he tries to open the closet but Grace doesn't let him. Eventually, Daniel asks Grace if she has a drink, and Grace offers to get some apple juice. As Grace leaves to go get the drinks, she coldly tells Daniel not to look in the closet. Daniel obliges, but then immediately opens the closet the second Grace leaves the room.
"OH MY GOD! YUNE?!"
"Mmmph!"
"Wait! Hang on!"
Daniel quickly grabs a cutter and carefully cuts the rope and removes the tape, Yune immediately hugs Daniel out of her fear.
"Thank you so much! I was so scared!"
"So... you didn't listen, hm?" Someone says right behind the two, Daniel is immediately alarmed by the voice, it was Grace who had just gone back into the room.
Grace, holding a very sharpened knife, shows an obsessed and terrifying look in her eyes, Yune hides behind Daniel, and Daniel looks at Grace with a concerned look.
"Come on Daniel! Don't you love me?! I did this ALL FOR YOU!"
Daniel's concerned look quickly changes to a cold expression, as he simply thanked Grace for having him as a guest.
"Huh? Are you leaving?! N-NOT YET!"
"I made promises I cannot keep if you act like this... I promised my one and only love for life that I would stay by her side forever. No one can force me away from her, and most especially, not you."
"Usually, I'd love to give people like you a second chance to be good, you have the potential to be good, but you just can't ever see it. I can't believed that you thought a kidnapping would work."
"Stay away from Yune, and stay away from me. I decide who I love, and your denial of that led you to this, I don't want you to be in my life anymore."
"I am DONE with you..."
Daniel then grabs Yune by her hand, and walks her out of the dorm and they start to go home. Meanwhile, Grace stands in her dorm room, tears stream down her eyes and she drops her knife.
"He... he hates me!"
"Yune seems so happy, as does Daniel..."
"...He's right, my denial and ignorance led me to this..."
As Daniel and Yune walk home and stop at Oak Tree Park to get a breather, Daniel, although knowing very clearly who was in the right, starts to doubt his very harsh choice of words.
"Daniel?"
"Yeah?"
"I think... Maybe we shouldn't be together anymore..."
"What?! Why?!"
"You've done so much for me, and yet, I don't do that much to thank you. Moreover, what if you didn't find me in that closet?"
"What if something worse happened? What if Grace just outright killed me in that alley? What if she even hurt you?"
"For a majority of your difficulties and problems, I was a root cau-"
"Don't say that..."
Tears begin to stream down Daniel's face and he holds onto Yunes hand tighter.
"Please... please don't say that..."
"I want to stay by your side, you were never a root cause in any of my problems. If anything, you helped me solve those problems."
"Daniel... thank you..."
Relieved that the situation about Grace was now shut down forever, Yune and Daniel walk home. But Daniel felt sad, he failed to guide someone down a better path and left no other option than heartbreak. But he always says to himself, "Let the past be the past." And so, he clears the thought from his mind and keeps moving forward.
