She stumbles back, still trembling, trying to regain her composure. He stands before her, his face a mixture of guilt and concern. He reaches out to her, but she flinches, taking a step back.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen like this," he says, his voice laced with regret. She look down at the broken table, the shards of glass scattered across the floor.

She manage to force out a muffled response between sobs, "I... I just... wanted the best for you."

His face softens, and he takes a step closer. He hesitates, unsure of how to comfort her. Her eyes met his, and for a moment, she can see the weight of his own guilt reflected in them. She swallows hard, trying to compose herself.

"You..." she starts, but her words were caught in her throat. She shakes her head, unable to continue. His eyes searching hers, as if looking for an answer to a question he hasn't yet asked.

The tension in the room is palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife. The silence stretches out between them, both of them grappling with the consequences of the moment. What happens next to them. Will he try to fix the situation, or will things fall apart between them?
