prologue

Vera Lapointe grew up in a very nice home in
Ottawa with her dad, Michael Lapointe and her brother, Christian Lapointe. Her mother left the Lapointe family when Vera was only 3 years old. It was hard for Vera to not have a woman in her life but she managed to get by, with much help from her dad. Due to her being with her dad and brother very often she established a love for hockey and baseball. She went to Christian's hockey games in the winter and started to take pictures of him playing, with a camera she found at her grandparents home, this is how she found her love for photography.

V knew what she wanted to be from a young age and she tried her hardest her whole life to get to that point which ended up working out very well in her favor, when she was met with an offer from the New Jersey Devils to be apart of their photography and social media team. She met many friends going through life and stayed the closest with just a few she met throughout her school years.

When she moved to New Jersey and left her friends behind she was scared because she didn't have anyone, it was just gonna be her and her dream in this new state. That was until she met him, when she met Jack her world changed. She finally had a friend in this new state... well make that two new friends because him and his younger brother came as a package deal.

Vera went from having lonely nights after her work day doing what she loves to having two brothers who were now some of her closest friends at her doorstep ready to hangout and do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted.

Growing up Vera was kind of quiet and only talked to her dad,brother, and her best friend Zena. When Vera got to the age of eight she started to open up more and become more social. And towards high school she was in the popular clique, where she met one of her now best friends Leilani who was a very talkative girl and helped V make more friends and open up more.

Ver had always been pretty but she had never been in a relationship, of course there were boys that would swoon over her and flirt with her, but none of them were 'worth her time' as she would say.

When attending college Vera met her best friend Kara. The two girls had almost all of their courses together due to them both being photography/media majors. Kara went on to be a social media icon that very many young girls look up to.

Vera kept to her dreams of becoming a photographer and started taking photos of her college hockey team, when she published her work to her socials she later got an email from none other than the New Jersey Devils management team asking if she would be willing to come be their photographer once she graduated. Ver gladly accepted and called all of her friends and family to tell them the exciting news.

Vera had one last hang out with her girls before having to say goodbye, many tears were shed but they all knew that this would not be their last time together and that they would visit each other again soon. And after the emotional goodbyes with her friends and family she was ok the next flight to New Jersey.
