Finally, Wes called Lucy during a filming break. "I got your voice message. Sounds like things turned out well last night."
She beamed. "It was amazing! I kissed him, and I thought that was it, but then he kissed me good night. It was so romantic."
"Have you talked to him at all today?"
"Not yet, but we should wrap filming for the day once we get through this scene, and then I'm heading over to his place to take care of him. Do you want to come?"
"And kill the first kiss buzz? No chance."
"Please, Wes. I need you to meet him. Tell me I'm not losing my mind when I say I've never wanted anyone more in my life."
"He must be extremely hot."
"It's not just about how he looks, even though he's gorgeous. He...he likes me for me. Tim doesn't know about my career. He doesn't even like movies. He's falling for my mind. We debate about books and movies, and he really listens to my opinions. He respects me. I can't tell you the last time I had a relationship with someone who saw me like that."
"By keeping your secret, you've made sure he falls for the real you?"
"Exactly! I'm more myself with him than most of the people in my life except for you. This feels so...what's the opposite of a movie?"
"Real?" He suggested.
She smiled in satisfaction at the sound of that descriptor. "Yeah, it feels real."
Her audible joy made him happy. "Alright, I'll meet you at your apartment when you wrap, and we can walk over to meet your boyfriend together."
"Tim's not my boyfriend yet."
"YET being the operative word."
"He did ask me out. We have our first date coming up."
"That sounds promising."
"I can't wait!"
"Maybe we can double date."
"Sure! Double dates are always fun!" She heard her name being called and said, "I gotta get back to work. See you soon. Bye."

Wes waited outside of Lucy's apartment for her to arrive.
She practically bounced down the street in her enthusiasm to bring one of her favorite people into one of her favorite places. Using her key to welcome herself inside, she inhaled the familiar scent of Bradford's Books and looked around with bright eyes. "This is my new happy place," she introduced a space that needed no introduction.
"It's an old bookstore," he noted.
"Yeah, it's incredible in here. There's so much happiness on these shelves." She brushed her pointer finger over the spines of the books on a random shelf in the science fiction section.
"It's an old bookstore," he repeated himself, seeing it as merely a shop.
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't oversimplify it. Look, right over there is where Tim and I read our books together, and this is where we had our first kiss."
He grinned. "I see."
"Tim lives upstairs." She pointed her head in the direction of the back room, and together they walked though the store, up the stairs, and ended up at Tim's front door. She knocked with her heart in her throat. Seeing him for the first time since their kiss the night before made her nervous, but all of that tension melted away the second he answered the door with an easy smile.
