The next day…
Lin stood calmly by the park beside the school, his eyes scanning the surroundings. He was waiting, but not anxiously. He knew that if Vin decided to show up, it would be a pivotal moment. If not, well, the world was full of opportunities.
"Do you think he'll come this time?" Daniel asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
"I'm not forcing him," Lin replied, his voice steady. "It's his choice. If he wants to come, he will. If not, there are 8 billion more people in the world."
Vasco tilted his head, confused. "You know that many people?!"
Zack sighed, shaking his head. "It's the world population, dumbass."
Lin smirked at their banter, but his focus shifted to the other side of the park. There, standing quietly, was Jay. Daniel had mentioned that Jay insisted on coming along, so Lin had agreed to bring him.
"They’re here," Jiho said quietly, his eyes fixed on the park entrance.
Lin followed his gaze and saw Vin Jin walking towards them, Mary Kim by his side. There was a determined look on Vin's face, and Lin could tell that he had made his decision.
Vin stopped a few steps away from Lin, his posture tense but resolute. "I'll join," Vin said, his voice firm. "But I'll be the one to kill Taejin."
Lin met Vin's gaze, reading the intensity in his eyes. After a brief pause, he nodded. "Agreed."
The deal was struck. Vin had joined the crew.
Lin furrowed his brow slightly as he heard no notification. "Is the quest completed, Isol?" he asked, a hint of impatience in his voice.
"No," Isol replied calmly, her voice steady as always. "Jiho is too weak to be an executive."
Lin let out a small sigh, running a hand through his hair as he considered the situation. "I see," he murmured, more to himself than to anyone else. He had been hoping to wrap things up, but this meant he still had some work to do.
Looking over at Jiho, who stood nearby, Lin felt a mix of determination and responsibility. He knew Jiho had potential, but it seemed there was still a long way to go.
“We’ll have to figure it out,” Lin finally said.
Lin took a deep breath, processing Isol's words. "So, Jiho's not strong enough, huh?" he mused aloud, glancing over at Jiho, who was doing his best to hide any disappointment.
"Not yet," Isol confirmed. "But there's another option. Jay and Mary Kim—either of them is strong enough to join as an executive."
Lin considered this, his eyes narrowing in thought. He knew both Jay and Mary were formidable in their own ways. After a moment, he decided to approach Mary first.
He found her leaning against a tree, arms crossed, her expression as unreadable as ever. "Mary," Lin began, his tone serious, "how about joining my crew? We could use someone with your strength."
Mary looked at him, her gaze steady. After a moment of silence, she shook her head slightly. "Maybe in the future, but not now," she replied firmly.
Lin respected her decision and didn’t press further. He had a feeling she might come around later, but for now, he needed someone else. Turning back, he found Jay standing quietly nearby, as if he had been waiting for this moment.
Lin approached Jay, standing in front of him with a straightforward question. "Will you join?"
Jay didn’t hesitate. He simply nodded, his resolve clear.
A small smile tugged at the corner of Lin’s lips. "Then it’s settled," he said, his voice carrying a sense of finality. He felt a sense of satisfaction; his crew was finally coming together.
Jiho, who had been watching the exchange, spoke up. "What will the crew name be?"
Lin paused for a moment, considering the question. Then, with a confident look, he answered, "ALLIED."
-----------
As soon as Lin declared the crew's name, a familiar sound echoed in his mind.
**Ding!**
"Quest completed," Isol’s voice rang out, as clear as a bell in Lin's thoughts.
A satisfied smile spread across Lin’s face. Everything was falling into place. He had gathered the right people, and with their new name, *ALLIED*, they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
“Good job, Lin,” Isol added. “You’ve successfully formed the crew.”
Lin nodded subtly to himself, feeling a sense of accomplishment. He knew this was only the beginning, but it was a solid start. Now, with Jay on board and the crew officially formed, the real work could begin.
-----------
Two weeks had passed...
J High was now a place of peace, with Lin and his crew, *ALLIED*, keeping everything in check. The crew had grown significantly, with many members from Burn Knuckle joining their ranks. However, Lin honored his promise to Vasko, allowing him to maintain leadership over Burn Knuckle. Those who dared cause trouble found themselves swiftly dealt with, ensuring that J High remained under *ALLIED*'s control.
After school, Lin found himself standing in front of the entrance to the Seoul underground subway. In his hand was a small, unassuming key—the key to the training dungeon. He looked at it for a moment before stepping forward, his mind focused on the task ahead.
Taking a deep breath, Lin inserted the key into an invisible lock, performing what seemed like the simple act of opening a door. In that instant, everything around him froze, and a swirling portal appeared at the entrance to the station, shimmering with an otherworldly light.
"Remember," Isol's voice echoed in his mind, "beyond this gate, I won’t be able to assist you. Only the basic system functions will be available, and you won’t be able to leave until either you or your opponent is defeated."
Lin gave a small nod, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. Without hesitation, he stepped forward, crossing the threshold into the unknown as the portal closed behind him, sealing him inside the dungeon.
