Alex's P.O.V

Hi, everyone. Enjoy reading. Have a great week and until soon.

I had a busy schedule. I woke up early and got ready for work. I heard my mother yell, "Adriel, come down!" while I left my room. I decided to check on the boy. I sighed when I saw my son sitting half asleep on the bed. He had fallen asleep while tying his shoelaces. I knelt before the boy and helped him finish the job. Adriel whimpered when I picked him up. He rubbed his eyes and uttered, "I'm sorry, Papa. I don't feel like going to school today." I rubbed Adriel's back and replied, "Don't think about it. I know you are not sick. Your brother will be lonely if you don't go." Adriel gasped and said, "Yeah, I can't leave him to fend for himself in that jungle." I pinched Adriel's cheek and stated, "Don't pester people at school, Adriel."

I dropped the boys off at school before going to work. Mr. Clint had gate duty that day. He waved at me and went back to greeting people. I had decided to observe the man for now. I said goodbye to the kids and left. My assistant, Valor, was waiting for me in my office. I greeted the man and asked, "Are you ready to meet the Alpha King?" Valor instantly replied, "Yes, sir. I have gathered the things we need." I made arrangements with my men before leaving with Valor. Maverick had just returned from training. The guy looked haggard. He growled when he saw us. I walked to his desk and said, "Sorry to barge in unannounced, but it's urgent."

Maverick leaned back in his chair and uttered, "I'm listening." Valor handed Maverick the files and said, "Here is the evidence we have gathered against you, Alpha King. Think before you speak." I frowned when I sensed my uncle. He was listening to our conversation. Valor had sensed him as well. I motioned him not to react. I wondered what Mitchell was doing there. I hadn't seen the guy in weeks. Maverick went through the files and then threw them on his desk. He rubbed his face in frustration. It was like he was about to cry. I sighed and said, "Stop with the antics, Maverick. Tell us the truth."

Maverick took a deep breath and uttered, "The head elder is behind these heinous crimes. Cain was his target at first. That guy was never interested in wolf pack stuff, so his target changed. Ezra thought that I was stupid. He forced me to become the Alpa King. The man also told me not to stick my nose in his business. I couldn't let him do as he pleased, so I created an organization. Kit Mercer's family are members of the organization. He and his mate are my loyal followers. I sent them to Africa to keep an eye on you guys." I frowned and stated, "Cain and I already know that. I also know how many people your secret organization saved. Tell me why you are so afraid to retaliate?"

Maverick walked to the window and answered, "Ezra placed a spell on my mate and children. They will die as soon as the man suspects anything. I have no other choice than to act stupid in front of him. Ezra has eyes and ears everywhere. I won't be surprised if he visits me today." I suddenly realized why my uncle was there. I gazed at Mitchell and declared, "Don't worry. No one will know about our meeting." I stood up and added, "I have the power to see the past and the future, so I knew about these things already. We were here to complete the formalities. Talk to Cain about this matter. You'll be surprised by what he can do for you."

Maverick called out to me while I was leaving. He smiled and uttered, "I guess you already know I kept your tree house. Tell me where you want it, and I'll shift it there." I chuckled and replied, "Send it to my house. I have the right tree there for it." Valor looked questioningly at me. I shook my head and replied, "It's nothing." My uncle followed me to my office. My assistant left to fulfill his duties. I sat behind my desk and asked, "What can I do for you, uncle?" Mitchell glared at me and replied, "You know why I am here, Alex. My enemies are under your nose, and you are doing nothing about it."

I growled and asked, "Have you forgotten how you lost your life, uncle? Let me do things my way this time. I'm sure you will be satisfied with the results." My uncle huffed and said before disappearing, "I hope you won't regret your decisions, Alex. Chances like these are hard to come by." My uncle's murderer had opened a bar in our city. The establishment was popular. The man had many names and appearances. The only thing he couldn't change was his scent. It had a unique smell. Regular people wouldn't notice it, but I could. I had sensed something similar when I was a kid. I was playing by the waterfall when a man with the same scent approached me. He was looking for someone. I can't remember who. The smell stayed with me throughout the years. The culprit had escaped many times before. I was taking things slow this time. I was thirsty. I stood up to grab a glass of water.

I felt lightheaded suddenly. I quickly grabbed my chair. Cain caught me from behind and helped me sit. He caressed my cheek and asked, "What's wrong?" I sighed and replied, "I know what it is, but I haven't confirmed it yet." Cain gasped and uttered, "No way! You are pregnant?" I nodded and answered, "I think so. I have an appointment at three today." Cain hugged me and said, "I'm so happy, Alex. I'll join you in disguise, and don't do anything strenuous today. Tell me what I can do for you for now." I stroked Cain's head and uttered, "I'm hungry. Can you order some food for me?" Cain immediately asked his assistant to grab us food. I had seen my youngest child's future. She would be healthy. The problem was that I couldn't give her the attention she needed.

I sighed while rubbing my stomach. Cain kissed my head and uttered, "Everything will be alright, Alex. You are not alone this time around." Cain had ordered my favorite dishes. I had just finished eating when my phone rang. Mr. Clint was calling me. I picked up my phone and said, "Good afternoon, Mr. Clint. What can I do for you today?" My heart skipped when the teacher uttered, "Can you come to school, Mr. Haile? Ethan got into an accident." Cain growled and yelled, "I'm coming with you!"

I grabbed Cain's arm and asked, "Have you forgotten who you are? I'll take care of it." Cain glared at me and uttered, "Ethan is our child. I don't want him to feel like I don't care." My phone went off again. It was Adriel's teacher this time. The boy had broken another boy's nose. Cain laughed when he heard about it. He proudly uttered, "That's my boy. The other boy probably caused the accident." Flynn made arrangements for Cain. He was traveling incognito. I laughed while thinking about the situation. My life had become such a circus.
