How Did I Ever Captivate a Criminal

Chapter 1: Café

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and and warm pastries were a comforting and familiar scent for Sonic the Hedgehog. It seemed like the only thing nice about this place. The world outside was a dark and misable one, it was a violent and dirty environment, unsafe for anyone. Barely anybody could afford anything here, people were struggling to survive. But we all had no choice to kissed up to men in power, but Sonic, his siblings, Sonia and Manic plus a lot of other people weren't about that. But the group fell a apart after some,,, events happened..
In fact a lot of people put they're trust in Sonic and his siblings' hands, they've helped and supported the community in anyway they can and people appreciate everything they've done for them. They're not the only ones.
He has a friend named Sunny and sometimes she helps out too, she's a human female with pale skin short, wavy, blonde hair and blue eyes.
While Sonic was a short blue hedgehog, he has a chubby frame but he's also quick on his feet reminiscent of how he was once famous for his speed. Sonic and Sunny are friends, they live in a shitty apartment together, they always try to stay positive though and make things work, like how they make the cafe work despite having a shitty boss and nasty customers.
Today was like no other, Sonic made orders while others made coffee, and Sunny was a server. Everything was the same until, they heard a deep British voice from outside the cafe doors.
Everyone was silent, Sonic could see the fear and worry on people's faces. He heard his boss curse, he guessed Bartleby made some kind if deal with his boss. The reason why everyone was so afraid is because Bartleby is a cruel and evil man. He had a massive business empire and he's connections with many organizations and he has many opps too. Bartleby is said to be very wealthy too, he's a billionaire!
He has a cartel inspired way of getting what he wants, he threatens the lives of people who don't do something for him on time and he has absolutely has no trouble taking the lives of those to defy him.
Bartleby appears to be a modian mink, he's tall, and has a wide frame from what it seems. He has long wavy blonde hair, orange face fur and dead black eyes that stare menacingly into your soul. He has a scar across the right side of his mouth, the scar seems to be a deep one because exposes Bartleby's teeth making him more terrifying. He usually seen with a black trench coat that almost covers his entire body.
Bartleby walks into the cafe, the door's bells chime signifying that he's now actually here. Bartleby observes the cafe, glaring at everyone and everything. Sending shivers down people's spines. Bartleby's eyes turn over to Sonic who's was standing behind the counter. Bartleby's expressionless face turns red, his eyes soften and he smiles slightly, until Sonic's boss rushes out of where ever he was and pushes Sonic aside. Bartleby's expression shifts into an annoyed one. Sonic's boss frantically greets Bartleby and asks why he's here and asks if he wants money. Bartleby simply says that he's here to inspect the place and that he'll come back later to set up a payment schedule.
Selfish scum. Bartleby leaves and everyone relaxes a bit, and his boss goes back into his office.
Sonic was still shocked that a man like that blushed at him, but he continued his day like normal and he'll just have to tell his siblings and Sunny about in later or tomorrow.
After work, Sonic and Sunny meets up with Sonia and Manic and they walk to the apartment complex. Sonk and Suny are working on finding a way to let Sonia, Manic and Mindy be official roommates because they're practically homeless and Mindy goes where ever Manic goes.
That's a lot of people and they're really stressed out, they're not sure how they're gonna find beds, feed them, make space for them. Sonic wished there was someone who could help him. They reach the apartment, Sunny and Sonia work on dinner (t̶y̶p̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ f̶e̶m̶a̶l̶e̶ s̶h̶i̶) while Mindy watches Manic play his games. Sonic walks to up and Sunny's shared room and closes to door. Sonic sits on the bed, he's starting to develop a headache so he takes some pain medicine. The way Bartleby was looking at him earlier, bothers him, he's not sure what will happen next. Will Bartleby be apart if his life? Who knows..
Sonic feels himself getting drowsy so he takes a nap.
He wakes up to Sunny shaking him gently, "Hey dude, I brought you food. " She says quitely. Sonic smiles and sits up. She picks up a tray of food and places it on Sonic lap. Sonic eyes widen with excitement, eyes practically shining, his mouth drooling slightly. This is the second time he's ever gotten to eat today and he's very happy.
On the tray there was a little plate with two pieces gralic bread and in a bowl there was some Mac n cheese. Sonic stomach growls loudly.
Sunny sits in the edge of the bed, smiling, while Sonic devours his food. He stops suddenly, "Hey Sun? " Sonic asks with a mouth full.

"Yeah?"

"How's everyone else?"

"Your sibs are sleeping but Mindy is still awake though." Sunny looks down at her feet.

"Oh. " Sonic says suddenly because he doesn't know what else to say.

"Oh! Uh.. I have an idea!"

Sonic looks up, *What is it?'

"What if we got a large sleeping bag that Mindy and Manic could sleep in and Sonia sleeps on the couch." Sunny demonstrates how large it would be with her hands.

"Yeah but,, Mindy's boobs are too big and how would we find any space for them? Would they or Sonia even be comfortable?" Sonic worries.

Sunny looks around shamefully and worryingly, "We'll figure something out. We always do. It'll be fine, we'll just see what we can do tomorrow. Plus we already have a sleeping bag! I'm just throws ideas out there that's all. " Sunny states, trying to reassure herself and especially Sonic. "Don't worry about this right now, ok?

Sonic smiles, head diwn still, " Yeah. Thanks Sunny." Something clicks in Sonic's brain, the Bartleby thing! Sonic looks up. "Sunny! I think Bartleby blushed at me today!"

Sunny gasps, "No way! Really?!" Sunny shrieks.

"Yeah! I don't know why but he did and I wish I knew why! It's bothering me.. "

"Maybe as the days go by, we'll see what happens."

"Yeah.. "

"Well now, finish up, ok? I gotta go to bed soon. " Sunny then yawns.

"Okay."

Sonic eats the rest if his yummy food, he gives it to Sunny. He can hear her putting in the sink, then doing her morning routine.
Sonic takes sleeping pills to get himself tired again, then goes in his phone.
