Emily can't remember last time her and Lucifer just did something as nice and calming as sit down and talk. And in her favorite restaurant, one of Bee's buffet restaurants in the Pride Ring.

For some reason, the staff got nervous when she showed up, and they have a sign that says not to eat chairs.

'Wonder who caused that?' Emily thought, as if she didn't already know.

"So, how have things been for the hotel? You got any new patients lately?" Lucifer asked.

"Things have been good and since you mentioned it, yes. We got a new hotel patient just a few days ago." Emily said, eating from a chicken leg. "You... uh... remember the bitch I cut the hands off of, right?"

"Cut off hands?...Oh yeah! That puppet demon girl, the shortest and weakest of the Vs. I remember her." Lucifer said with a nod before drinking some lemonade.

After a second, he did a LONG spit take that reached across the room!

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S AT THE HOTEL!?" Lucifer shouted in shock.

"That what I mean, dad. Velvette wants to change, she wants to be better." Emily said, holding a napkin for Lucifer to take and use. "She's really been in a bad place in the last five years?"

"How has someone like her, an overlord, gotten in a bad place?" Lucifer asked, wiping his lips with the napkin.

"Without her hands, she can't use a phone for her social media influence or use her fashion powers. She was basically kicked out of the Vs and became a hobo now." Emily explained quickly.

"In my opinion that's a good fate for her." Lucifer said, pointing at Emily with his fork. "Those bastards did a lot to your sister and you."

"I know but everyone deserves a second chance, dad. You know that's what Charlie and I believe." Emily said, gesturing to herself.

"... I know... but I can't look at any of them without seeing Charlie on the brink of death." Lucifer said, remembering the WORST day of his life. "It's hard to forget that."

"...I haven't either, dad. In fact, I can safely say it is something I will NEVER forgive for as long as I live." Emily said before eating the rest of her chicken leg, bone and all. "But if I just let somebody fall into despair after they've reached their hand out to me, I could never forgive myself if I could've helped them turn their life around."

"... I'm really beginning to wonder where my kids get this mind set from, both my biological daughter and adopted one are practically the same." Lucifer said, shaking his head. "Just... promise me that this won't hesitate to call me in case something happens, I still have ownership of her soul, so if she tries anything, I can stop her."

"I know, dad. And I promise, I'll call if something bad happens that I can't handle." Emily said as she drank some more of her orange soda. "So, what's been new with you? Enjoying your... "trip" around the rings?"

Emily gave Lucifer a look that said, 'I can tell you're lying, so don't even bother.'

"Y-y-yeah, been real nice catching up with the other sins." Lucifer said, smiling nervously.

"Dad, cut the bullshit, I lived in heaven for so many years I lost count, I can smell the holy energy on you. The only reason no one else has is because they've never been to heaven." Emily said with a blank expression.

'Of course she would.' He thought with a sigh.

"Do you want the full story or just the important stuff?" Lucifer asked.

"Full story. We're in a private dining room, so we don't have anyone unknowingly listening." Emily said with a shrug.

"Well... it kind of started when Charlie was in a coma." He stated slowly. "It was... honestly, it's still crazy just to think about."
