ASHLYN THEN FOLLOW ALEX, the man who cuffed her was following behind her, probably there just in case Ashlyn goes crazy and tries to escape.
'To have the staff and funds to required to keep us 'comfortable' like he said...it has to be expansive. It's like we're getting VIP treatment...y/n?'
As she was in thinking, she noticed a familiar hair colour, it was you. You didn't have any cuffs on your wrist, and comparing clothes, you had longer pants and you had a jacket on you. You also had a bandage around your head.
It was odd, firstly your room didn't have any camera because you requested none. And secondly you got more clothes than the rest, Ashlyn couldn't help but ask to herself..
'Just who are you Y/n?'
Meanwhile when you saw Ashlyn, your eyes lit up and immediately ran to her to give her a hug, "Hi!! Ashlyn!!" You exclaimed cheerfully. Alex then turned back to see you giving Ashlyn a bear hug.
"Oh, Y/n? What are you doing here..? Shouldn't you be in your room?" Alex asked in curiosity, raising an eyebrow. "I got bored and..asked if I can move around the facility.." You answered, pulling yourself away from Ashlyn.
Suddenly a nurse with blonde hair came running to you, "y/n you cant just ran away!!" the nurse panicked, "oh..sorry.." You frowned you then turned to ashlyn and gave a little wave as you walked off with the nurse.
"Bye..bye.."
Ashlyn sighed. You were probably the most secretive person among the group, aside from Aiden, she thought.
Ashlyn sighed, "How many others like us are there?"
"There've been many cases of people infected with this fungus. But you kids are different from what we've found are far. Usually, once infected the host into a coma while hallucinating then only wakes from the coma once the fungus takes over the time"
"Like them.." Alex then turned to room, which has several patients, unconscious. "Thats one of the wards of coma patients we have right now" he gestured.
Alex then continued walking, "obviously you're still experiencing hallucinations, so you aren't completely immune but yourself the best we have right now. Which is why even without your consent, we need to keep you here.."
"What about your parents..?" Ashlyn asked.
"They've been informed about the situation. They arent happy about it obviously, However its just how it is at the moment. Not much any of us can do for now"
Then a black haired man was walking past Ashlyn, smiling innocently. Alex then stopped, he then insert a card into the card hole, the door opened. "Since the hallucinations are happening to keep the patient asleep and comatose, you can't really tell much is going on"
"However once the fungus fully mature...this is what the results is" Alex gestured to the tubes, phantom were in it. They looked human but their build looked more like the phantoms.
As Ashlyn started descending downwards the stairs, a phantom near the stairs snapped its neck to Ashlyn. Alex then noticed how they were looking at Ashlyn, he then turned to look at her.
She had a similar face to the phantoms.
"Ms banner..?" Alex then called out to her.
"This is the fungus?" Ashlyn was clearly shocked and anxious, suddenly a phantom banged on the glass. Alex sighed, "Alright I think thats enough for today. You really should get some rest and let things settle in" Alex stated as he leaned Ashlyn back to her room.
Alex then scratched the back of his head, he then handed her a remote, "This is for the TV. There's also a call button on there, thats how you'll get in contact with whenever you need something" Alex explained.
"I have some other things, i need to take care of, so I'll be going now. If you need me, press the button" Alex exclaimed as he left the door.
