"What do you think they have for me?" tanong ni Derek sa akin.
Napakibit balikat ako. "I'm not sure. . . Pero alam kong hindi ka nila bibiguin."
"Yeah, let's see that. What about you, babe? What do you have for me?" he asked. Hindi ko siya nasagot dahil biglang na-blanko ang isipan ko. "Nah. Don't bother answering it." Hinalikan niya ako sa ulo. "As long as you're with me, that'll be the greatest gift I will always have."
"Even though it's not my birthday today, I feel the same way, babe. . ."
We paused in front of the door and kissed me on the lips. That felt some assurance for me. Even though Derek and I have been together so strong, hindi pa rin mawala sa isipan ko na one day ay magbe-break kaming dalawa for an unknown reason, and thinking those things made my heart break even though it's far from happening.
When we walked inside the house, Derek made our presence known by calling them out. We found ourselves heading towards where everyone should be at.
"Where are they?" nagtataka nitong usal nang mapagtanto namin sobrang tahimik ng paligid.
"This is weird. . . Akala ko ba nandito sila ngayon? Baka naman nasa ibang bahay pala?" Haka-haka ko pa.
"They all should be here," anito. "What are they planning, huh?" Ngisi pa nito, pero kita ko sa mukha niya ang pananabik.
"Everyone? Is anybody in this house?" he questioned. "He—"
Both of us were startled when all of them showed up from different hallways of the house. It was like we were in a thriller film and all those bad guys showed up to haunt us.
Derek started being nervous and now laughing about what happened. He let my hand go to attend to everyone one of them. Mas ikinagulat ko pa na ang sunod na bumungad sa akin ay si Danny. Sabi ko na lang na may plano kang i-surprise si Derek kaya sinabi ko rin na magtago ang lahat pagkadating. Hindi pa nga ako ma-gets ng iba. Ang OA ko raw."
