Emma's eyes wandered around the cozy coffee shop, searching for a familiar face. She had agreed to meet her friend, Sarah, but was running late due to a meeting that had gone longer than expected. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods filled the air, comforting her frazzled nerves. As she waited in line, she checked her phone for what felt like the hundredth time, anxious to make a good impression.

That's when she saw him - a tall, dark-haired stranger with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through her. He smiled warmly and said, "You look like you could use a coffee." Emma's cheeks flushed as she took in his chiseled features and effortless charm.

"I'm running a bit behind," Emma admitted, feeling a spark of connection.

"I know the feeling," he replied, his voice low and soothing. "I'm Jack."

"Emma," she said, taking his hand in a firm handshake.

As they waited for their drinks, they chatted effortlessly, exchanging stories and laughter. Emma found herself feeling seen and heard in a way she hadn't experienced in a long time. When Sarah arrived, Emma introduced them, but her attention kept drifting back to Jack.

As they parted ways, Jack asked for her number, and Emma agreed, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility. "Maybe I'll see you around?
Jack said with a smile, and Emma couldn't help but wonder if their chance encounter might lead to something more.
