Daniel POV
It's Friday, the last flipping day of the week and I still haven't dared Elliott to do anything.
And after he dropped me off that night I couldn't stop thinking about how sweet he was. I know I'm just being delusional but I can't help it!
Who would have thought I'd fall for the impossible. The sound of my phone ringing snapped me out of my daydream.
Daniel's room
I picked it up only to see an unfamiliar number staring back at me. “Hello, Daniel Baker speaking.” I answered professionally. “Hello, princess.” My jaw dropped, how'd he get my number? “How… did you get my number?” I asked, did I give it to him and somehow forgot? No, that's not like me st all.
“From a very close friend.” He replied nonchalantly, as if it was completely normal for people to get other people's number without their consent.
I rolled my eyes and walked to my closet. “So, why did you call? And it better be something important or Els--" he hummed in amusement.
“Or else what Danny? What will you do. Hmm?” I could hear him smile his face of like a complete idiot. Pisses me off so much! “Why did you call Elliott.”
“Aww. Your no funare you? So there's this party sat–”
“Absolutely not.” I cut him off mid sentence. Me? Going to a party made for a bunch of rich kids? No way in hell.“Why?” He asked tone evident that he's disappointed. “I'll be there with you. Like a body guard.” I rolled my eyes and scoffed at his promise.
“You expect me to believe that? Thee Elliott, high school jock and most popular guy in school also captain of the basketball team. Sticking by a nerdy guy throughout the entire party and not running off to hookup with every girl. Haha, very convincing.” I made sure to emphasize my sarcasm.I heard huff in amusement before saying. “You can dare me to stay. Problem solved!” I rolled my eyes at him stupidity. I wish I could dare him to break up with his girlfriend and date me but nope. “Ugh, Puhlease. We both know your girlfriend will be under your arm like a 24/7 deodorant. And she's gonna seduce to away and I might not see you for the next three days after I had to find my way back home. I'm good, thanks.”
Elliott sighed, it sound as if he'd given up and I'd be happy. “I really didn't want to have to do this daniel,” he said, sounding a bit regretful. What godforsaken idea is he going to vomit up now?
“Daniel, I dare you to be my date for the party this weekend.” To say my jaw dropped is an understatement. I would have never thought he'd be this petty. “Why would you waste a dare like that?!” I am furious, how dare he? “It's not a waste if you come with me. Besides it's my dare.” Did I say I was furious? Sorry, that too, was an understatement because right now I am fuming.
“Why'd you date me to come to a party?”
“Because you wouldn't come freely.”
“Is that how you go about convincing someone to go somewhere with you?”
“I don't know. I guess.”
“I am not coming.
“But I dared you. You gotta come no matter how much you detest it. Come out and live a little will ya.”
I sighed, rubbing my temple as I feel a headache approaching. “Fine, fine I'll go. But I won't drink or do anything. Be it smoking, dancing, talking to strangers or sex.” I listed. I am prepared to ingest any form of drugs unknowingly. “What? Are you a Buddhist? Why would you go to a party and act like your in an electric chair?” He grumbled, I again, rolled my eyes at his lack of carelessness.“Well, unlike you, I am innocent from head to toe. Completely untouched and still thriving beautifully.” I boasted, picking up my dolphin plushy before calopsing into bed.
“You forgot that some though.” Elliott echoed, I furrowed my brows in confusion. “Oh, yeah. Enlighten me.”
“Your first kiss, Daniel.” He replied. My heart thundered, heat rising to my cheeks as flashbacks of what happened the first night at his house due to complications. I remembered the way he kissed me needyly and how good he was at it.
I mean, it's no surprise since he's a player. “Not only are you blushing right now with heavy heartbeats, but your also remembering. Am I right or am I right” Elliott mused.
I chewed at my bottom lips, unable to denie him or argue since he was right. Elliott huffed in amusement. “Take it that I hit the nail right on the head.” As I am about argue my mom sounded from the kitchen requesting my assistance.
“I'll be your companion for the party.”
“You mean date?”
“Friend.” I countered.
“Partner?” he insisted.
“No, Elliott. No partner, no date. Just a friend or companion. Am I clear?”
He huffed. “Fine. What time do I pick you?”
“What time does it start?”
“8:30p.m- 9:00p.m”
“Ok. How about 9p.m?”
“Deal. See you soon princess.” Elliott purred. I ended the call and tossed my phone behind me on the bed.Burying my face in the pillow like a preteen girl getting her first boyfriend.
I am actually going to a party with my crush and the best part is… he asked me himself! I can't believe it. My happiness is short lived as my mom's yelling at me to come down and help came again.
I sighed and reluctantly rolled at of bed and made my way down the stairs. I'm still happy though and can't wait for Saturday to arrive. Now that I think about it, why the hell is Saturday so far away from Tuesday and so close to Monday?
This has never bothered me before but right now, It just pisses me the hell off. Ugh, my life.
