Hi there! My name is Emily, and I'm about to embark on one of the most exciting journeys of my life—attending Mount Allison University! It still feels surreal to say it out loud, but here I am, ready to take on the world from a campus that already feels like a second home to me.

Standing at 5'1", I've often been told that I'm "small but mighty." I like to think that's true. What I might lack in height, I more than make up for in determination and curiosity. Growing up, I was always the one climbing trees, getting lost in books, and dreaming of the day I could explore the world on my own terms. Now, that day is finally here, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Mount Allison University, or Mount A as everyone fondly calls it, captured my heart from the moment I first set foot on campus. Nestled in the picturesque town of Sackville, New Brunswick, it's everything I imagined a university should be—charming, vibrant, and full of life. The red-brick buildings, the lush greenery, and the sense of community here make it feel like a place where I can truly thrive.

I've always been passionate about learning, and Mount Allison's strong academic reputation was a big part of why I chose it. I'm planning to major in Psychology, with a minor in English Literature. The human mind has always fascinated me—why we think the way we do, how our experiences shape us, and how we can use that understanding to make a difference in the world. And literature? Well, that's my way of connecting with people across time and space, diving into their stories, and finding pieces of myself in them.

One of the things I'm most looking forward to is the small class sizes at Mount A. It's comforting to know that I won't just be another face in the crowd; I'll actually get to know my professors and classmates, build meaningful relationships, and engage in discussions that will challenge and inspire me. I've heard so many great things about the professors here—they're not just knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in their students' success. I can't wait to learn from them and maybe even contribute to some interesting research projects along the way.

Outside of academics, I'm eager to dive into campus life. I'm hoping to join a few clubs—maybe the Psychology Society, a book club, and definitely something related to community service. Giving back has always been important to me, and I know that getting involved in volunteer work here will help me stay grounded and connected to the community. Plus, it's a great way to meet new people and make friends!

Of course, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous. Moving away from home, living in residence, and adapting to a whole new routine—it's a lot to take in. But I've always believed that the best things in life happen outside of our comfort zones, so I'm ready to embrace the challenges that come my way. After all, it's all part of the adventure.

I'm also excited to explore Sackville itself. It's such a quaint and welcoming town, and I love that it has this perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I've already scoped out a few cozy cafes where I can see myself spending countless hours studying, writing, or just people-watching. And the fact that Mount Allison is right in the heart of it all makes it even better—I'll never be far from anything I need, whether it's a quiet spot to relax or a lively place to socialize.

So, as I stand on the cusp of this new chapter, I'm filled with a mix of emotions—excitement, anticipation, and maybe a touch of anxiety. But more than anything, I'm ready. Ready to learn, grow, and become the person I'm meant to be. Mount Allison University is the perfect place for that, and I'm so grateful to be a part of this amazing community.

Here's to new beginnings, endless possibilities, and a future full of promise. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!
