Sneaky way

The sun was shining brightly as Chan arrived at school the next morning, but it did little to lift the heaviness he felt after the events of the previous night. He walked through the gates, glancing around for any sign of Felix. After their intimate moment and the shared fight, Chan had hoped for some acknowledgment, but as he entered the school, Felix's presence was conspicuously absent.

The hallway was bustling with students, the chatter and laughter a stark contrast to the turmoil Chan felt inside. He spotted Changbin and Han by their usual spot near the lockers and made his way over, hoping for some semblance of normalcy.

"Hey guys," Chan greeted, trying to sound cheerful despite the knot of anxiety in his stomach.

Changbin looked up with a welcoming smile. "Hey, Chan! How's it going?"

Han gave a casual wave, but there was a noticeable distance in his demeanor. "Morning, Chan."

"Morning," Chan replied, glancing between them. "Have you seen Felix today?"

Changbin shook his head. "Nope, not yet. Why do you ask?"

Chan hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "I was hoping to talk to him. We had... a bit of an encounter last night, and I thought we could clear things up."

Han's expression grew serious at the mention of Felix. "Oh? What happened?"

Chan bit his lip, considering his words carefully. "We ended up fighting off some guys together. And after that, we talked. He seemed... shaken."

Han's eyes narrowed slightly. "Felix's got his own issues. It's not uncommon for him to be in the middle of stuff like that."

Chan frowned. "What do you mean? It seemed like there was something more going on, especially with the club."

Changbin glanced at Han, his expression thoughtful. "The club? That's Felix's job. And Hyunjin's too. It's something they've been doing for a while."

Chan's confusion deepened. "But why? Why would they work at a place like that?"

Han shrugged, a hint of frustration in his voice. "It's not easy for everyone. Sometimes, you do what you have to do to make ends meet. Felix and Hyunjin are good at what they do, and it pays the bills. But it's not a glamorous life."

Chan shook his head, trying to process this new information. "But there has to be a better way. There's got to be something more to it."

Han's gaze hardened. "You don't understand, Chan. Not everyone has the luxury of choice. Sometimes, you do what you can to survive."

Before Chan could respond, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and saw another message from the unknown number.

Unknown: You're getting closer to dangerous truths. Be careful who you trust.

The ominous message sent a shiver down Chan's spine. He pocketed his phone, feeling the weight of the warning press on his shoulders. The last thing he needed was more trouble, but the mystery only deepened his resolve.

"I've got to get to class," Chan said, trying to shake off the unease. "Thanks for talking with me."

Han and Changbin nodded, and Chan walked away, his thoughts swirling with confusion and concern. He had a music project with Seungmin, and it was a welcome distraction from the tangled mess of his thoughts.

As he made his way to the music studio, Chan hoped that focusing on the project would clear his mind. The studio was a haven of creativity and calm, with its soft lighting and array of instruments. Seungmin was already there, setting up equipment and preparing for their session.
