Cassie was starting at a new school she always moving from one town to the next she heard about the missing girl Maddie nears who everyone was talking about including some rebel head named Xavier Baxter.
Cassie pulls up at the school heading inside everyone talked about her like she was the reason Maddie left but Cassie tried to keep things under wraps she didn't know the girl
Xavier was by the lockers he was in deep thought about Maddie he can't believe what happened to her
Cassie heads to Xavier she heard a lot about him from the town sheriff who happened to be his father.
Xavier noticed the girl walking over to him he just shakes his head he didn't want to talk to anyone he just loss someone so important
Cassie says " I am sorry about Maddie I promise you I don't know her or anything"
Xavier says " and that makes it better to just say sorry for someone you didn't know " he says bitterly
Cassie tried to explain" I mean I can't even imagine what you must be feeling "
Xavier looks at her with such hate in his eyes " don't even try to play the hero your not your just the witch of the hour "
Cassie says " I was trying to be nice why are you so rude "
Xavier says " my father acts like I am the criminal going around and around but I am just some messed up guy who loss someone so if you don't mind leave me alone " he leaves
Cassie can't even believe what Xavier must be feeling having that pressure and feelings
Nicole walks over to the new girl " hey I saw what you said to Baxter that was nice of you but he a little upset about Maddie "
Cassie says ' what exactly happened"
Nicole says " she started missing around like April and there a DNA sample of hers on the walls in the place she went missing "
Cassie was shocked " I am so sorry that is awful "
Nicole says " yeah so when someone talks to him about him he gets defensive and upset "
Cassie says " I understand now I didn't mean to cause him to be upset "
Nicole says " the reason he's so defensive about it is because that was his girlfriend"
Cassie was understanding why he got mad about it " I can't even imagine losing someone that close to you or anyone "

She goes to class she goes to Mr Anderson 's class
Xavier noticed the girl she was the same one who talked about Maddie he didnt even trust her.
Simon noticed how Xavier looked at the new girl he wonders what's going on .
Cassie sits next to Xavier Nicole sits with Simon
Xavier looks at her " anything you want to say about Maddie I swear I'll!"
Cassie says " I told you I am sorry I didn't even know Maddie "
Simon says " did he see how he got mad at her Nicole what's going on"
Nicole says " everyone assumed she was the reason Maddie disappeared but she seemed like a caring forgiving girl to me "
Simon says " what that doesn't make any sense "

Cassie says " I understand that Nicole told me she was important to you so"

Mr Anderson says " good morning class we got a new student today her name is Cassie Traske "
Cassie says " hi " she says to the class while sitting down

Cassie laughed at him Xavier laughed along " your laugh is very smooth "
After class
She goes to her other classes then lunch she eats her burger in silence
Xavier goes to her table " hey new girl " he says back
Cassie says " hi why are you not having lunch ?"
Xavier says " I got my own from home and wanna come to my car with me right now I think we could talk "
Cassie says " isn't that like against the law or something to leave school to go to a car?" She asked
Xavier says " I do that all the time plus it's in the parking a lot so"
Cassie takes her burger and goes to the car with him.
Xavier opens his door to let her inside the car
Cassie gets inside of the car sits down and eats
Xavier close the door and sits next to her and laughed " your so cute when you eat"
Cassie says " thanks Baxter " s he says back at him
Xavier says " the last time I saw Maddie I was in here and she kept trying to tell me to quit vaping and then she left back to school that's all"
Cassie says " I am so sorry" she felt bad that brought memories back
Xavier takes a vape and blows the v pen " it's fine Cass we are fine we are all good "
Cassie says " I know just, I feel bad like very " she Finished eating.

Cassie nods , Xavier opens the v pen and says " just don't tell your father about it "
Cassie tries it and coughs " that is very flavorful" she felt her lungs have trouble
Xavier laughed " are you ok" he pats her back
Cassie says " I am fine thanks Baxter " she didn't even want to do that again

Cassie smiled " see ya tomorrow"
She heads inside

She heads home after school her father was busy with his new job she was sitting in her room eating pizza when she heard her phone ring
Becca her best friend was calling her
Cassie answers " hi Becca! How are you!"
Becca says " good I can't believe me and Izzy had to go to the same school and you didn't!"
Cassie says " I was so sad without you guys but I got to talk to this guy "
Becca says " this guy?" She asked
Cassie says " he was super angry and mysterious but I won't give out his name "

Becca says " that's awesome anyways I got to go I got a test to study for but ily girl!" She hangs up
Cassie eats her pizza and throws out her trash she gets up goes downstairs
