A group of friends are walking home at night, chatting and laughing as other teenagers would. One of the members of the group, named Jake, separated from the group because nature was calling him. Jake quickly found a public restroom, went inside, did his business, washed his hands, and was about to leave when he heard a voices outside.
Jake listened to the voices' conversation, and one of them said, "Sooner or later, they will discover who you truly are." Jake became intrigued by the conversation, so he kept listening. The normal conversation devolved into an argument, until one of the guys said "Well, good knowing you then," followed by a loud gunshot.
Jake's eyes widened and he froze in place, thinking about what he had just heard: after the gunshot, it was followed by footsteps, which were getting closer, as if they were also going to the bathroom. Jake whispered the words "fuck" before entering one of the stalls.
The footsteps were getting closer and closer, Jake's chest felt like it was going to explode. When he heard that the guy who owns the footsteps had entered one of the stalls, he quickly but quietly exited his stall and was about to leave the bathroom when his phone rang, his friends began calling him because he was taking so long using the restroom.
His heart dropped, but instead of freezing there in fear, he quickly ran. When he stepped outside the restroom, he heard the stall door slam open, and a heavy footsteps. He kept running, and when he looked back, he saw a guy in a hoodie looking in his direction and aiming a gun. His eyes widened, and when he heard the gunshot, he quickly ducked down before standing up and continuing to run.
After a few minutes of running, he found his friends, who looked at him puzzled and slightly annoyed because he made them wait for half an hour. One of his friends, Claude, asked, "Man, are you okay? Have you seen a ghost or something?" He looks to everyone while still panting, before saying "you all are not gonna believe what I just experience."
The group looks at him, intrigued and perplexed, and as they continue walking home, he tells them about what just happened to him and why he took so long using the restroom. Half of the group laughed, and the other half looked at him with concern and confusion. The day after that night, Jake and his friends were hanging out at the arcade in the middle of the night, as usual.
While they were playing video games, they overheard the staff of that arcade palace discussing the incident that occurred last night, in which someone was shot in a nearby public bathroom. They all looked at Jake with wide eyes, thinking he was just playing with them last night, but now that they have heard it from someone, they finally believe him.
One of the group members, Haru, said, "Damn, man, you really just witnessed a murder scene, huh?" before everyone quickly began questioning him. He just shrugged it off and continued playing until he noticed a familiar figure in the corner of his eye, standing outside the arcade palace. Jake whispered to Claude secretly, "Look outside, that is the guy last night," while remaining focused on the game, just like Claude.
Claude noticed it too in the corner of his eyes, and he whispered back to Jake, "He is moving." Jake just silently agreed with him. He cast a quick glance before quietly requesting the group's attention. The group quickly gathered and sat at one table; the others were clueless.
