"grew up in the same house so i know why you lash out"

&

"i understand you more than you think i do"

'FUCK YOU Nick!' you hear Chris scream in the distance as he slams the door to his room. They'd been fighting all day, no doubt they'll make up within the hour, but you hate seeing your brothers fight. Most of the time it's over their YouTube. Whether it be what to film, about a stupid comment someone left, or when they're just burnt out. You lift yourself off of your bed and waddle your way to Chris' room, most of the time he'd only ever talk to you after these fights, and you knew how to calm him down. *Knock knock knock*, you hear a muffled voice on the other side of the door 'I told you to fuck off Ni-' he cuts himself off when he sees you walk in. You look at him for a moment, splayed out on his bed, hood pulled up over his messy hair, eyes red. You sigh before making your way over to his bed, and almost like routine at this point he moves over to one side to make room for you. As you lay down next to him he puts his arm around your shoulder, you laying on it. 'I'm sorry I-' he starts as you cut him off '-It's okay, Chris. I get it, I know why you lashed out, you're stressed out with Nick and Matt and Mom and Dad are pressuring you to 'get a real job', just relax, I understand'. As you finish you feel him let out a sigh of relief, glad that his little sister understands him.

"all of the places i built us to hide"

Your body trembles as you lean into Chris further, his hands clasp over your ears, which only muffles the screaming in the background. Nick and Matt were at the park and Chris stayed home to play with you, that's when a fight broke out between your Mom and Dad. You were seven and Chris was ten all those years ago when he decided to build a fort in a desperate attempt to distract you. It worked for a bit, until the argument moved to the kitchen and got louder. Chris rocked you back and forth as he whispered supportive things in your ear before grabbing a blanket and draping it over the entrance to the fort. Eventually Chris rocked you into sleep, and you will forever thank him for building that fort, it made you feel protected by your older brother.

"our youth down the drain, and i take all of the blame, for all of the times that you cried"

&

"just two kids caught in the crossfire"

Nick, Matt and Chris had started making videos on YouTube 3 years ago, when they were 17 and you were 14. You weren't on their channel much as they wanted to protect you from the internet weirdos. As you got older you started to become more frequent in their content because obviously you were their sister and they did everything with you anyway. The hate rolled in endlessly for this, and a lot of it, for you and for the boys, especially Chris. The fans thought the bond between you and Chris was weird and that you guys were 'too close for siblings'. This hate continued for years, you put on a front that it wasn't affecting you in front of Chris, because you knew he blamed himself. One day you had read the comment section of a recent video, and broke down. You didn't realize how hard you were crying until you heard your door creak open and saw Chris' devastated face in front of you. You couldn't hide it anymore and you poured your heart out to him as he listened intently, the occasional tear slipping down his cheek. He blamed himself, he felt like it was his fault for ever even putting you on the internet, he felt like he had robbed your youth from you and it was all down the drain the second you started getting hate and he took the blame for every single time you cried because you got hate. You assured him it absolutely wasn't his fault and he said they would address it in a YouTube video. You guys were just two kids caught in the crossfire.

"sometimes all you need is a shoulder to cry. and im lucky that youre mine"

Chris had always been someone that you could rely on, when it came to everything. Of course Nick and Matt were too, but you two being the youngest just had a different bond. That day your best friend had completely dropped you and blocked you on everything with no explanation. Chris had noticed something was up with you when you had come home from school. "Hey kiddo, what's up?" he asked as you came through the front door. Your shoulders were slumped heavily and your hood was pulled up over your head, your eyes red and droopy from crying. "Nothing Chris, it's okay" you say in a small cracked voice. Of course, he didn't take that as an answer, he walked over to you and pulled your hood down. Taking in your disheveled look, he took your bag from your back and grabbed your hand before leading you to the couch. You both sat down and you immediately laid your head on his shoulder and erupted into tears. "It's okay, let it out sweetheart" he says, stroking your head. He assures you don't have to say anything as you guys sit there for close to an hour just letting your tears flow. In the end you felt better and you felt so lucky you had Chris as a shoulder to cry on.
