You stood in a landscape that is shadowy and twisted, an endless maze of jagged rocks and barren trees that claw at the darkened sky.
The air is thick with the scent of burning, an acrid tang that stings the nose and throat.
You have no idea why, but your body screams at you to run, so you did.
As you run, the ground beneath your feet cracks and shifts, threatening to swallow you whole.
From the void behind, you hear it—a metallic clanking, a relentless rhythm that reverberates through the ground and into your bones.
You glance over your shoulder and your heart stops in your chest. There, emerging from the darkness, are the chains. But these chains aren't ordinary.
They blaze with fire, their links glowing molten red, dripping with embers that hiss as they hit the cold ground.
They move like serpents, writhing and twisting through the air, their ends snapping like whips.
The heat from them is unbearable, singeing your skin even as you race to escape. The chains are alive, relentless, and they are gaining on you.
You can feel the fiery tendrils licking at your back, the searing heat making your muscles scream with exhaustion.
No matter how fast you run, the chains are faster. They snake around corners, slither through crevices, and reach out with a hunger that chills you to your core despite their burning heat.
The ground beneath you tilts and buckles as you sprint, throwing you off balance, but still you push forward, lungs burning, heart pounding in your ears like a war drum.
But it's no use. You stumble, just for a moment, but it's enough. The fiery chains seize the opportunity, lashing out with a triumphant hiss.
One catches your ankle, and the pain is instant, white-hot and blinding.
You cry out, but the sound is swallowed by the loud crackling of the flames.
Another chain wraps around your waist, pulling you back, dragging you toward the burning void from which they came.
The heat is unbearable now, closing in around you, consuming you.
And just as the flames seem to engulf you completely, the dream shatters, leaving you gasping for breath in the dark of the dorm, your heart racing as if it will burst from your chest.
With wide eyes your hand quickly hits the lamp.
You take deep breaths as you scan the room for the chains, your ears just faintly hearing the high pitched clinks and clatters.
After calming down you look over at your alarm clock.
It was 3:47.
You knew it would be almost impossible to go back to sleep so you simply grab your uniform Yaga delivered and displayed it on your bed.
