AUGUST 28, MONDAY, 13:37. BROTHER'S QUEST.

On a busy corner in the heart of Seoul stands Vernon, leaning against a red brick wall as he watches the city life. So many people... and so many colors. This is the first time Vernon has been in such a busy part of the city since he started seeing those strange wisps ten days ago, and it is taking everything in him to not be overwhelmed. After several long nights of research, he finds what he is seeing to be most closely affiliated to auras .

What started out to be just a small glimpse from the corner of his eye — perhaps a trick of the light — has become more prevalent day by day. However, the things he saw when he ran into the red haired man at the supermarket has been quite inexplicable. He feels silly calling them visions, but what else could they be? Though it only lasted just a couple seconds, the experience was so confusing and complex. Now, it's where his mind tends to go when it takes even the slightest break from the outside world...

Two boys laughing under the winter's sky, a salty, cold breeze blowing through their hair. Those eyes staring back at him holds such depth, sweetened oh so beautifully with love, the other's breath is simply taken away. How lucky he feels to get to look into them and feel this euphoric warmth. How lucky he feels to experience the rarity of falling for someone with your entire being, and to be loved just as so.

A surge of electricity runs through this man's body when those long, elegant arms hidden by layers of clothing wrap around his waist. What else is there to do except complete the puzzle piece and bring him closer? So, he interlaces his own gloved fingers at the back of his neck and they slowly close their eyes, moving closer and closer. Another happy wave of tingly shock courses through his body when their noses brush together.

He couldn't help but smile into that first kiss, and oh how it fills him with a joy like no other.

Everything is perfect.

... Everything was perfect.

Vernon frowns. They looked so happy, but that aching heart inside was more than just heavy. He could not understand why and questions of how sadness could be painted over such beautiful memories.

"Vernon! Vernon!" Maneuvering through the crowded sidewalk appears Vernon's brother, Seungkwan, smiling big and waving excitedly.

Vernon jogs a few steps to meet him and pulls his brother into a hug. "Hey, Seungkwan! How are you?"

"I'm good!" Seungkwan laughs, "I'm glad you were able to hang out today."

"Yeah, well, father thinks it'd be better if he were to train the new guy on cooking rather than me, so it worked out. What do you wanna do?"

"Well I left before eating anything, so I definitely wanna grab a bite somewhere. Maybe some shopping afterwards?" Seungkwan gives his brother a disapproving once-over. "Yeah, definitely shopping."

"What? I tried putting in effort this time."

Vernon had thought that by pairing his favorite tie-dye shirt with some black jeans, he could finally prove Seungkwan wrong that tie-dye can, if fact, be worn casually. Not just as matching group outfits, or if the dyes are really light pastels that you could hardly see and are paired with white-washed jeans. He did get Seungkwan to admit that spraying bleach on black shirts can be "quite cool", but only in the right setting and if there are holes in said shirt.
