'17 year old Katsuki Bakugo reaches for the stars & breaks schools record! Scoring 54 points alone in only the third game of the school year!'..
I sigh and set my pencil down, looking up to acknowledge the wild crowd of teenagers, freshman and seniors screamed and cheered together as the final buzzer went off, marking the end of the basketball game.
A group of guys, all wearing matching red jerseys, surrounded kacchan as he yelled menacing insults at the loosing team. Bottle-blonde cheerleaders showed their spirit by flying through the air and throwing Pom Pom's. It was astonishing to me how people had this much energy after a long day of school work and studying, unless I was the only one who actually cared enough to do that.
I stand up, grabbing my yellow messenger bag as I do so. Crowds of students pushed and shoved and played as they were exiting the school building after the time consuming, stress inducing basketball game was over. The chattering of players complimenting Kacchan as he responded in a selfish way was the only sound remaining as students had left the building, walking towards cars or already driving away. "Of course I beat the record" or "As if those losers could beat me, I'm the best." Were common remarks made.
I didn't leave the school though, I walked down the silent hallway until I reached the door at the end of the first building. It read "Journalism club." I founded the club in my freshman year of high school, as a way to ignore bullies, bullies like kacchan. My name is Izuku Midoriya, I'm the chief- editor and journalist of the club.
I take my keys out of my backpack, slightly fumbling while attempting to open the door. Once inside, I placed the journal down on one of the tables, making sure I knew where it was for Friday, and left the room.
The drive home was quiet, the hum of the radio, playing one of my favorite songs; 505 by the Arctic monkeys, was the only sound that filed the small, red buggie. It wasn't a big car, but it was big enough for myself, and only myself.

As Izuku pulled into the driveway of his mother's small suburban 2 story home, the aroma of homemade Takoyaki got stronger as he approached the door. His mother, Inko
Midoriya, had a love for any form of cooking or baking, which resulting in homemade desserts and snacks being in the house constantly, Izuku didn't mind though, he loved his mothers cooking and it was one of the only things he would miss once he moved to college the following year. He would miss her, her cooking, his childhood home..and his childhood friend. As much as he hated to admit, Izuku admired katsuki, and has forever. Even during the rough days in middle school where he would walk home with bruises, during the beginning of highschool when katsuki would mock him for being in such a "nerdy" club, and when they were just dumb kids venturing outdoors, before rushing home to beat curfew.
He admired him.
That was the very reason that every game katsuki plays in, Izuku volunteers to attend and take notes for the club, studying every move, every point scored, every player, and katsuki.

"Oh Zuku your home! Just in time, I just made some snacks..how was the game? Did the school win? How's katsuki?" Inkos voice echoed through the house as Izuku stepped inside and locked the door. He loved his mother, but she could sure have a bunch of questions. "It was good Ma, we did end up winning and kacchan even beat the schools record!"
His Mother wasn't aware of the bullying situation, especially the one in middle school. The first reason was that Izuku didn't want to worry his mother, as she already worried enough as is. The second reason was because in his heart, deep down hidden behind a wall of hate, rivalry, and jealousy, Izuku secretly wanted katsuki as a friend, maybe even best friends again, or more.
"Oh my! That's amazing! Why I should just call Mitsuki and ask to speak to katsuki, I must congratulate him for his amazing achievement!" Before Izuku could argue how that's a bad idea, Inko dug her phone out of her purse and dialed his "aunties" number.
Izuku loved auntie Mitsuki, but in the moment, the only thing he could think of was running upstairs and hiding before his mom talking to katsuki, turned into him being forced to talk to katsuki about school.
The very thought made him shudder, so he threw his shoes off at the door and ran upstairs. "Izuku honey! Where are you going?" His mother called after him. "Upstairs! I have homework to finish before tomorrow!"
He infact, did not have homework. What Midoriya actually ended up doing, was squeaking and squeaking over his favorite author and his podcast, Mr. Yagi Toshinori. He often wrote stories about superheroes, villains, and mysteries. His podcast consisted of him reading fan stories, talking about upcoming books, and doing fan interviews.
As childish as it sounded, in another universe Izuku dreamed he was a super hero, and that he could save the world from evil people such as bullies, murderers, predators, and more, but he would probably end up getting stressed, just like he is right now with school.
Another dream of his was to finally meet Mr. Toshinori, and possibly even be on a podcast episode. Although that dream was a bit more realistic, it probably wouldn't happen.
The freckled boy was lost in the computer screen infront of him, the time suddenly went from 7:57 pm to 9:23 pm, eventually reaching 11:01 without realization.
He shut off the monitor once he acknowledged that it was just an hour until midnight, and he had a busy day of school the next day. He crept down the dark wooden stairs, the only light surrounding him being the flashlight he shone from his phone. The house was silent, indicating his mother had already gone to bed. He felt guilty for not saying goodnight, and running away from her earlier, once he spotted his mother passed out on the couch, he planted a soft kiss on her forehead, whispering a faint "goodnight momma, I love you" before heading back up the stairs into his bed. Attempting to mentally prepare for the day ahead of him, the day he and his club-mates had to assign roles to eachother for the yearbook they would start the next week.
He just hoped he didn't get assigned the sports section.
