Ana

Since I had actually ruined his coffee, I wanted to save my sorry ass with this dinner, but Raphael insisted on inviting me. I thanked him more than once as we left the restaurant together.

As we got outside I noticed how dark it already was. When did it get so late? I looked at the clock on my phone and saw that it was already 9:14 p.m.! What a brainfuck! Time had really flown by.

When I got to the main street, I stopped in my tracks to say my goodbyes to Raphael. He noticed this and also stopped, but looked at me questioningly. He reached out to me and pulled me towards him. "Come on." He continued walking in the direction of my apartment. Raphael's apartment, however, was in the exact opposite direction. "I'm taking you home." he explained to me, as he noticed my questioning look.

An 'O' formed on my lips - okayyy, now I understand why he chose this path.

"Raphael, that's really sweet of you, but you don't have to. I know the way and it's already late. I can..." I just wanted to make it clear to him that it wasn't necessary to take such a detour. We both don't have far to go from here to our apartments. If he came with me now, he would have to walk twice as much back to his. There was really no need to do this.

However, Raphael had a different opinion on that. "Ana." He silenced me. I stood there like a child who had just been caught doing something it wasn't supposed to do. I looked up at him with big eyes.

„You don't have to..." I started, but got interrupted by him again. "But I want to." His mind was made up, his voice sounding stern. Without saying anything else, he briefly took my hand in his and led me across the three-lane road towards my apartment.

"Also," he began, turning his head towards me as we walked along, a grin on his face. "I do want to know where you live."

Oh, so that's his plan. Mr. Raphael Black wants to know where I live.

"You could have just asked me if I would invite you over sometime." I suggested, shrugging my shoulders innocently. Two people can play this game.

"Would you have invited me?" he asked me with a slight grin, but a touch of seriousness in his eyes. He looked down at me, waiting for an answer. You won't get that from me that easily.

I let out a long breath, theatrically. "Hmm, now we'll probably never know." I shot back sweetly, both of my arms raised to show that we were both now forced to accept this fate as it was handed to us. I laughed softly, but maliciously.

Suddenly I felt a hard slap on my butt and someone grab it firmly. Startled, I let out a high scream, reaching reflexively for the hand behind me. I spun around, Raphael's hand in mine, as he was now the one laughing.

"Raphael!" I scolded him, which he thought was even funnier.

"You were cheeky." he told me, as if that was a plausible explanation for his grabbing. A huge grin on his face.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't let guys get that close to me after such a short period of time. But the thing with Raphael was that we had already become quite close at our first encounter, which is why the initial inhibitions obviously no longer existed. Plus there has been a flirty vibe going on between the two of us lately, which is why it didn't bother me that much that he tried to make a move on me.

As I was about to give him a saucy reply, we passed a single-family home with a large garden attached to it. Before I even knew what was happening, three full grown dogs ran from the house towards the garden fence we were passing. The three giants stood on their hind legs, their front legs hanging over the fence and making a hell of a noise.
